i think in the end, we deserved that. results going how they went means we are no better off. 5 points clear of the relegation zone. could have done with a favour from millwall today.

i think we'll climb away now. 5 more points and i thnk we're safe

That is not enough for Wigan.

As it stands it is 1 place from Wigan, Stoke, Huddersfield and us.

Wigan at home could be winner takes all.

Massive three points <ok>

Any credit to Lee Bowyer for his tactics?
Doubtless those who've got it in for Bowyer will claim he just got lucky today.
Credit for changing things from 3 to 2 CB's. We were poor before that but we started to play with freedom, scored two Green and Oz should have scored two more, and we were able to relax a bit. Bonne staked a strong claim for a starting place and Taylor showed that we should just pay up for his contract.

At the end of the season the spanner will say he always wanted us to stay up<laugh>

A decent win in the end...an entertaining game played in a good atmosphere.

I was right behind Lyle Taylor’s opening goal. The technique displayed was Premier League class. ESI should pay him what he wants this summer to keep him.

Lapslie did well when he came on. Oshilaja was not so good.

I was never quite sure what position Oshilaja was playing. At first he was like an extra CB, and was quite decent in that role, but second half when he moved further forward he was a liability. Lapslie slotted in well and the whole team looked more balanced after the change, so I got nervous when Pearce came on for the last 5 minutes and we reverted to 5 at the back. Maybe the reason why Bowyer plays it is because Doughty is a wing-back rather than a full-back, but if we are going to stay up I feel it will be with 4-4-2, especially if Taylor and Bonne stay fit. Lockyer looks a much better player in a back 4 too.

Oshilaja seemed to drift into midfield in the second half. The ball ricocheted off him like a bagatelle. Appalling technically, it’s been evident all season.

He's a defender, nothing more nothing less. It was as though the whole team breathed a collective sigh of relief when he was replaced by Lapslie, who may be about to fill the space left by Gallagher.
Btw, just seen the Luton disallowed goal, which was clearly onside and should have stood.

Lapslie certainly looks to have the same energy as Gallagher, I’m loving the youngsters coming through

The disallowed goal is just the rub of the green mate ,sometimes it works out for you sometimes it doesn’t this time it did and I’ll gladly take the three points thanks
