What punishment should the Stewards dish out?

  • Reprimand for Webber

  • Fine for Webber

  • 5 Place Grid Penalty for Webber

What action does everyone think the stewards should/will take?

I think Webber will get a five place grid penalty and rightly so. Glock has his own program to complete in a reduced session and has no obligation to compromise that by moving out the way for Webber.

The argument that Glock should've backed off is equally applicable to Webber. Also why on earth couldn't he get past a Virgin? He has a much faster car, presumably he has Kers as well and Glock surely would've been running at reduced revs on a Friday morning. He could easily have just cut turn 16 to get past as well.

Nah keep the stewards out of this... why are they necessary? Webber did something stupid and lost a front wing for it. Story over.

Webber got off completely unpunished, RB bolted on a new wing while the session was red flagged anyway and he was away again. Poor old Timo had to sit out the rest of the session.

Edit: I meant to put no punishment in the poll. Knew there was something I'd missed. <doh>

Timo had to sit out? Wasn't aware. At least a reprimand though. I get a feeling he'll get off scot free though. On the timing neither MSC or HAM is next to his time...
 
Glock had every right to turn in. It's a practice session and when Webber saw that Glock wasnt going to yield he should have backed off and given himself some space. Failing that, Webber should have thought more carefully about where he could have made his overtake.

It was a clumsy move and he deserves a 5 place grid penalty.
 
There should be no penalty at all for none of them. I thought it looked like Glock was going to yield and Webber hesitated just a bit too long b4 he broke and got clipped. Racing incident and misunderstanding.
 
strikes me this is quite similar to the Webber/Hamilton incident here last season. In both cases Webber drove into a gap that wasn't there hitting the other car. I know with Hamilton it was an overtake for position, but Hamilton was well infront. A reprimand should be enough in this case, I'm not a fan of stewards decissions effecting race results.

That incident last year was Hamilton's fault. Webber couldn't move over or brake any harder than he was already doing. Hamilton turned in to much and if he had actually left a little room he would have gotten Mark at the next turn as he'd have the inside line.

Got to say that I aggree with this, Hamilton didn't leave anywhere for Webber to go. He (Webber) could not brake any harder, move out of the way etc. Hamilton should of left more room for Webber and they both would of been fine.
 
It's rare to see Webber yield, he usually does what he wants and if he hits someone usually tries to blame the other person, last race was typical, he made a ridiculously specualtive move, when it was clear he wasn't going to make the pass he still took the racing line, hit Massa then as soon as he was on camera he was complaining Massa hadn't given him room, unbelievable.

As to Hamilton Webber last year, that was Hamilton being rash
 
To be honest I just thought it was a mix up; Webber thought Glock was letting him through and Glock just did not see Webber.
