i'd be in a league all of my own, just so evryone can create a mental picture of my unquestionable prettiness C. Ronaldo, Misters Pitt & Clooney etc will be say bottom of the conferance league whilst I'd be the Barcelona in comparison! <diva>

Lol, yeah right <laugh>

There are always sharks hunting for bargains in the financial markets. For all you know it could be another sports channel that is only interested in getting a stake in NESN and doesn't give a monkey's toss about Liverpool. And remember that the value of Liverpool was plummeting when RBS was about to put them in administration but FSG still came in and snapped them up.

I wasn't even making any kind of point about Liverpool the club. The point I did make, which you seem to have overlooked, is that NYT selling their stake does not automatically suggest that NESV/FSG (or whatever they call themselves on the market) is decreasing in value.

John Henry still owns Liverpool FC regardless of who now owns NYT's share.

I know the value of Liverpool WAS plummeting at the end of the H & G reign. I didn't say it wasn't. But anyone knows that once a company comes into new and better ownership, its stocks are worth more. There is far less debt now, so obviously LFC are worth more than they were this time last year.

EDIT: Also, I've just seen your comment about our value in Oct '10. My question is, what on Earth does that have to do with now? Anyone with half a brain cell (yes, that includes us LFC fans...) knew we were worth next to **** all when we were sold. We're in new hands now, so that value does not reflect the present moment. Moreover, NESV bought us at that low price, so I don't think they care that we're not worth what we were at our peak, so long as we're worth more than when they bought us, which we are.

I don't hate him, I just heavily disagree with him. What has our value in October 2010, under the old ownership, got to do with now?
It doesn't matter what we're 'worth' anyway, because our owners aren't looking to sell. It's like I don't care what my house is currently worth, because I don't plan to move any time soon.

I reckon Liverpool are worth £500million on a very good day. £300million on a bad day. £0 imo :D

Exactly <doh>

Jesus, these mancs and their knowledge of finance is absolutely staggering. <laugh>

Now, do you boys really think people wouldn't buy shares when there price is falling with the hope then when the market picks back up the share value won't increase ?

And you say our financial knowledge is staggering ?
