Would players, managers and football pundits alike be able to do a post match interview or match analysis WITHOUT using the word 'credit'?

Is it me or is this the most over used word in football.

Credit where it's due. Not everyone uses that word in an interview.

Some even manage a creditable performance without using it

my least favourite of all "credit the opposition they came here and played football".
As opposed to what? Volleyball? snooker?
Obviously I know what they really mean but such a stupid phrase.

Football is rife with clichés, sadly. You've merely highlighted one of the more widely used, but don't forget 'it's a game of two halves', 'the lads gave me everything they had' and 'the referee had a shocker'.

And that's before Shearer, Hansen and Lawrenson start putting the boot into us <yikes> <doh>

All credit for spotting it, though. <ok>

I'd like to hear a player give an interview without saying the word "obviously" at least three times every sentence, that's the one that does my head on!

I remember always having a sweepstake with mates in the Gunn club after the game. We would try to predict the amount of times Daryl Russell would say 'most definitely' during a post match interview.

At the end of the day, theres no easy 3 points the boys have to get the ball down and play their game. These things even themselves out so long as they don t push the panic button..

what about the annoying 'For Sure' comment. I reckon in any interview it will be said at least 3 times.
