But, just to be clear, that doesn't mean they didn't ever make a bid, nor does it mean they won't takeover. We've never seen any documentary evidence that Staveley made a bid for Newcastle, other than what she and Ashley said ... ... but plenty of people believe a bid was made.
Over a curry and a bottle of wine. Apparently Ashley didn't appreciate the leaked pics and walked away
Donald would be legally by the proverbials if he said they didn't do something that they did, on BBC radio. It would be career suicide to do that to some of the wealthiest men in the world, you know how important these things are.
They may have given their consent to him saying that, they might even have insisted ... ... there are all kinds of possibilities but that's pure guesswork from me. Even so I doubt if FPP would have the inclination to take Donald to court for speaking out of turn ... ... if it's slander it's hardly the crime of the century tbh.
Keep your hair on man Was just a few general questions to a lad who puts plenty of post on here from what I have seen Could have told me it was non of my business and that would be fine
I was alluding to the same kind of character references that were done by my investors, by everyone you've worked with, and by people on each other constantly where millions of pounds change hands. Donald ****ing about with the richest people he's ever known in the middle of a process with them would appear to be among the more stupid things I can imagine anyone doing.
the problem is the owner has contradicted himself so many times, it isn't just a slip of the tongue and he has brought that upon himself. Now that doesn't mean to say he is always telling lies, but you cant then blame people for not believing him. We've all known people who embellish stories somewhat, and I bet if you have come across someone, then you take everything he says with a pinch of salt, even if he said 3 Hail Mary's and an our Father after it. Im an eternal pessimist, I want to believe the good stuff, but think the bad stuff will happen. Its got me through life so far, (and believe me I am more towards the end than the beginning) without me losing the plot and people castigating me for not being level headed
Great post marra, proving once again that what is said at these meetings can be taken with a pinch of salt
We're into a bit of a weird situation where you're saying there's no documentary evidence to support your suggestion that a bid was made, and that Donald is dicking anyone around. So... I agree? There isn't any documentary evidence for something that I don't believe is happening.
Trust me mate, I wouldn't lie to you or the dozens of Sunderland supporters i know personally. I'm easily recognised and would be risking a slap if I did, especially at the away games I go to. As @Guinness Guzzler has posted, respected people with genuine contacts have confirmed much of what I've said. They have no reason to lie and neither do they or the journalist in the OP.
Just so you don't get the wrong impression again, I am not saying you're a liar. I just don't believe your contacts have a very good track record on this issue.
I've never seen a shred of documentary evidence prior to a takeover ... ... that doesn't mean none have ever happened.
Yup I'm with you on the thicko bit but for what its worth heres my take on this in a very simpified form. FPP stick a few quid in a holding company. We go up SD gets it and buggers off. We do not go up FPP take control and SD buggers off without it.
Cheers mate, rest assured these people aren't just someone who knows the groundsman's window cleaner.
Oh you're doing a bit about 'documentary evidence' now. Good stuff. Let's just say that nothing that we have seen from any source indicates a bid was made. That easier?
