I wouldn't say the league is ****. Far from it.
There are many reasons why Liverpool have walked it this season.

First and foremost they are a great team, thats a big reason, obviously. Solid team and a good manager who was backed by his board with time and money!

Secondly, City are going through the inevitable staleness that teams sometimes suffer when they win back to back titles, which is why no one has ever won more than 3 PL's in a row, even SAF's United only managed 3 in a row at their height. Complacency kicks in, squads constantly need refreshing.

Also the midtable teams have become more competitive, teams like Leicester, Wolves, Sheffield Utd, Everton etc, have all built great teams with the increased PL revenue, Leicester especially have made the most of their 2016 title win and bought very well, hence their top 3 position.
This means that the top 6, bar Liverpool have been losing points in games they would traditionally have cake walked. Especially the teams going through transitions.

Which brings me to my last point, big clubs going through transitions. United seem to be the biggest example, they have never really found their feet since Fergie left and have bought terribly in the transfer market in the last 5 years. Chelsea lost their manager and their best player in the summer and were banned from recruiting players in the summer. Arsenal, similarly to United, are going through some **** after losing a long term manager. Emery clearly didnt work, and it remains to be seen whether Arteta can get more out of the current squad. They also have not bought terribly sensibly these last couple of years (with a few exceptions, and not nearly as terribly as United).

Next season, hopefully for me, Chelsea will be a bit of a better force again, and possibly one or more of United and Arsenal may have gotten their acts together.
I have a feeling this might be Pep's last season at City as well.
Also, who knows, Sheffield, Wolves etc might step up and start competing at the top....ya never know.
Wouldn't really disagree with any of that. Pep will defo leave if he doesn't win the CL and he won't, so he will <ok>

For me the Liverpool fan cringe reached its heights when that fan sent a letter to Suarez I think it was, begging him not to leave.
Explaining how Liverpool wasnt like other clubs, its more than a club, etc etc and loads of other over the top Grandeurous bullshit.

Why if there is a winter break are some PL teams playing this weekend?
cos its the only way of having a winter break yet allowing the clubs to sell even more games to Television .They do this by having half the clubs playing one weekend and the others the next so both have a 2 week break - well you do unless you can't beat Oxford or Shrewsbury .
