TBF a side who wins a two horse race as tight as that was gets more respect than a side who runs away with it under absolutely no pressure at all. You lot deserve the league title but you’re chatting **** if you try to pass this season off as even remotely competitive. Every team is binning points like they’re not interested.
I aint bothered to look but it would be interesting to see the points taken by teams this time last year and the year before that. Could probably work out if your right or chattin balls. Wheres @astro when you need him
Well last year you had two teams beating everything in sight and this year is the same as 17/18, one horse race, foot off the gas after Xmas, the league is sewn up effectively and pressure completely off. Not that you guys are **** under pressure. From a rival perspective, it would have been a sucker to watch you win that last season. This season it’s done, we are dealing with it in our own way, I’ve got a flight to Chad booked.
Doubt it Klopps laid good foundations for sustained success, so id expect us to be winning more titles over the next 4/5 years tbh
You bottled it because you were 7 points ahead and favourites turn of the year. This season you have city were never top dog so had nothing to lose and bottle
Yeah I care......if a general question or topic comes up about liverpool I usually answer. That's how forums work Bluey
I wouldn't say the league is ****. Far from it. There are many reasons why Liverpool have walked it this season. First and foremost they are a great team, thats a big reason, obviously. Solid team and a good manager who was backed by his board with time and money! Secondly, City are going through the inevitable staleness that teams sometimes suffer when they win back to back titles, which is why no one has ever won more than 3 PL's in a row, even SAF's United only managed 3 in a row at their height. Complacency kicks in, squads constantly need refreshing. Also the midtable teams have become more competitive, teams like Leicester, Wolves, Sheffield Utd, Everton etc, have all built great teams with the increased PL revenue, Leicester especially have made the most of their 2016 title win and bought very well, hence their top 3 position. This means that the top 6, bar Liverpool have been losing points in games they would traditionally have cake walked. Especially the teams going through transitions. Which brings me to my last point, big clubs going through transitions. United seem to be the biggest example, they have never really found their feet since Fergie left and have bought terribly in the transfer market in the last 5 years. Chelsea lost their manager and their best player in the summer and were banned from recruiting players in the summer. Arsenal, similarly to United, are going through some **** after losing a long term manager. Emery clearly didnt work, and it remains to be seen whether Arteta can get more out of the current squad. They also have not bought terribly sensibly these last couple of years (with a few exceptions, and not nearly as terribly as United). Next season, hopefully for me, Chelsea will be a bit of a better force again, and possibly one or more of United and Arsenal may have gotten their acts together. I have a feeling this might be Pep's last season at City as well. Also, who knows, Sheffield, Wolves etc might step up and start competing at the top....ya never know.
Liverpool won the league at Christmas mate, because they are the best team in the league right now, and the other top 6 clubs, bar City, who have their own issues, are going through transition. As soon as City lost those two games in a row, and you guys opened up a 12 point lead or whatever the **** it was, it was over.
