Well if we take JK at his word Shrewsbury should really fancy their chances .
I understand his reasons but do wonder if some of the returning injured players or fringe first teamers might almost want a game .

I really think a few of our first team players should knocking on Jurgen's door to say they respect his decision his final and he'll do what's best for the team but they'd really like to play against Shrewsbury to get some minutes under their belt. I'm thinking Adrian, Matip, Lovren, Keita, Origi, etc

    Edit; Minamino too

i'm a bit like that but somehow think JK wouldn't let them . I quite fancied a cup run as well esp as we are in such a wonderful position in the league .

    To be honest
IF we win the league early I think it will have a negative effect on CL prospects as we lose that edge and possibly the desire
Hope I am wrong like :)

Ironically, I think we stand a better chance with a purely youngster team rather than a mixed bag of youth a reserves.

Just youngsters against Everton were superb. Can't recall a mixed team playing well.

there were 6 first team squad members starting against Everton
    Adrian
    Gomez
    Milner
    Lallana
    Origi
    Minamoto

i do sort of take your point though when considering the team who played Shrewsbury away as too many were so rusty .

Milner got injured early on and Adrian is different. I had forgotten Minamino played though but it was somewhat a forgettable performance! Origi and Gomez are still young anyway.
