...where's these fantastic licks, you were supposed to be putting up for Hotel California?

I’m a long way off that, with my current work commitments.

The solo is coming along fine, though. It’s not really that hard.

Who said anything about it being 'hard?'

You seem to be taking your time :emoticon-0138-think

I’ve already learnt the notes and finger positioning.

It’s all about the phrasing, now. That always takes time and lots of practice.

Why for a skilled musician such as yourself, that is like lightening on the fretboard, surely someone like you knows their scales and licks blindfolded, you entertain the clubs with your wizardry most available weekends, this ought to be a walk in the park for you! :bandit:

Playing fast is easy, when you know the scales and finger drills.

Trying to emulate what Felder and Walsh play on the studio cut of Hotel California takes time and a lot of application.

And a high tolerance to something so boring.

The Eagles were consummate musicians, real pros. I wouldn’t call Hotel California their greatest song, but it has stood the rest of time.

Having said that, I’ve probably heard it 100 million times on the radio, since the 70s. Not sure I really want to hear it being murdered by a pub act in the year 2020, personally.

I liked The Last Resort but I'm not a big fan.

Pub act, but he's a wizard I'd have you know!
