Er rose ...left back in the changing room and aurier like that famous song I was lost in France think it was bonny Tyler who sang it I might be wrong age is creeping up with me.
We’ve only had one defender who’s actually been able to defend this season and he was benched for the last two games... I mean, if the term ‘Spursy’ wants to be used, that’s a time to use it.
In theory I’d agree but with Aurier at RB and Toby running away from attackers worse than Eriksen does, I doubt even a midfield of Kante and Partey could help us meet a clean sheet.
It's hard to believe we had the best defence and arguably the best midfield a couple of seasons back wtf happened
I'm not letting Mourinho off on this. No matter the limitations of some of our squad, his job is to set us up so as to limit the effect of those limitations and get performances and results. Decisions like continuing to play Dier in a midfield two, giving Aurier a free role and the like aren't bloody good enough. When the set up reflects the best that we can muster, then he gets a pass on the quality of some of the players. Until then.....
Happy Birthday RCL, I hope you get as rousing a rendition of Happy Birthday To You as you give us on here of your songs mid-game
Agreed. And until such a time as he can sort out the shambles in the middle of the park, hampered even further by the fact that Tanguy can't play more than once a month, our back line needs to be as conservative as possible. Davies returning from injury (IF he is still the same player - 2 operations in quick succession rarely bodes well for a player's future) will help this immensely. But until then, a flat back 4 of Foyth Dave Toby Jan Is the only way we have a fool's hope of not conceding 2 per game. Whichever player or players line up in front of that should then depend on the opposition and location of the game. ALL away games and home games against solid opposition should build a midfield 3 on that foundation, given Tanguy's fitness issues that's probably: Sissoko Winks Lo Celso And then a front 3 of: Lucas Kane Son And use the pace of Lucas/Son and general quality of Kane to nick a goal or 2 on the counter. At the very least, whilst it won't control the park, that midfield won't stop working and the front line is more than enough to make even the best teams think twice before committing men forward. And when at home against weaker teams (honestly you can count them on one hand these days), a midfield two and 4 up top is an acceptable risk to take. Either way, the football will be more workmanlike than 'derring do', but let's be honest we set up against Norwich with 2 defenders and the football was still ****. If I'm going to watch **** football either way, I'd prefer to do so and pick up some points at the end of it.
Time moved on as did Kyle Walker, the rest got old and slow but Spurs were too focused about the new stadium and winning the net spend League and most fans were happy to not see anyone sold or signed.
Up against a championship team who will bully our defenders and put in lots of crosses for their tall forwards. We could do worse than play CCV who has been used to that system whilst playing for Stoke this season and fellow championship teams over the last few seasons.
Happy birthday, my brother! I'm hoping that we deliver something that doesn't put a downer on your day. As a true Spur, you deserve something decent.
Happy Birthday RCL , mine was yesterday and I'm going out with family for lunch but have a mate keeping me updated . Please don't cods this up Tottenham
