It wasn't 7-0 because our forwards were so poor. However Joe did succeed in makng sure the 2nd best team in the league didn't even manage a shot on target at home.
Perfect performance. Incredible. We just spanked the 2nd placed team ... at their own ground. Complete domination. And it should have been more than 4-0. We have battered Leicester twice this season only the scoreline didn’t reflect that in the game at Anfield. Trent delivered a masterclass. 21 years old and he’s influencing games like this. Joe Gomez has rediscovered his form and has settled. No coincidence that we’re now picking up clean sheets. He and VVD are a great partnership.
You forgot Henderson. That we are not missing Fabinho is testament to how well he is playing. He should have had more assists if the front line was more clinical. This was a team performance front to back but you have to admire how every member of the team takes their opportunity to play well when given a chance. Gomez allows us to play higher and it showed with how we managed to press them very high and snuff out Vardy. Special mention to Keita for his one touch passing combination play and his dribbling to get past players. He still lacks the stamina for a full 90 mins but he is coming good at the right time.
Because he had Vardy, their one and only threat, completely in his pocket. But fair enough Roger, you were the team of the day, and I'm sure the papers will reflect that.
Agreed. Hendo has really stepped up. Far more expansive with his passing and takes more risks. Keita is such an elegant player - glides across the pitch and past players with ease. Gini was also very good. I genuinely love this team. We can defend against pretty much all styles of play, and we can score from anywhere on the pitch. We have it all.
Thought the first 45 mins were Keitas most complete performance so far though he did fade in the 2nd . The best thing about us are that we really are a team / squad and the top performances are shared around .
We’ve just come back from Qatar after having played in a couple of tough games in the heat, Lose another player to injury, then having to play away to the second placed team ... and spanking them 4-0.
You can watch full game, short or extended highlights. The service is quite good, expect it to cost a bomb if they decide to go for a package in the future.
Btw, the pass from Hendo in the first half when Salah was dragged down in the box, but it didn't matter because he was offside: so what is the difference between that and the Ref's Association telling MoTD that Silva's handball that led to Trent's handball was irrelevant, even though had the ball fell to Sterling or Aguero and they'd scored, it would have been disallowed?
