I think that’s gotta be true. I really can’t think of any other plausible reason why there wouldn’t have been several offers at a price that is relative peanuts nowadays.

In their latest bid to con people into paying a subscription, The Reason Why Local Papers Lost Their Best Writers Earlier This Year report that we're looking to loan out Oliver Skipp, Japhet Tanganga and KWP in January
While I can see KWP being loaned to get regular football, the others I can't: Tanganga's out of contract at the end of the season so we may as well sell him in January rather than loan him, while Skipp's basically the only cover for both Dier and Winks we have at the moment so has a place in our squad, even if that place is on the bench until the 88th minute at the moment

We were linked to him last summer, when he had a ridiculously affordable release clause...but as our non-HG quota was full and we couldn't offload the likes of Jansen or GKN we couldn't really do anything
Something I've never understood about the non-HG quota...is a player on the books automatically awarded a spot, or do they have to be named and registered as part of the PL/CL squad to count? I.e. was there ever an option to just 'de-list' GKN and Vince from the squad list and free up precious non-HG spots?
De-listing is an option, as Janssen was dropped from the squad altogether last season until a space freed up when Dembele left, but realistically it's a lose/lose situation as you're paying someone to not play while lowering their transfer value

To be honest I wouldn't be surprised if we did, given he's been on loan for two seasons now, and the fact he's been unable to hold down a regular place at either Swansea or Stoke in those two years does make it clear that the odds of him making with us are pretty much gone, especially with Foyth, Tanganga and Eyoma all jumping ahead of him in the last eighteen months
