I was reading the thread about Adriano Basso and all the comments about his relationship with the fans and 'Ohhhh Ohhhhh Basso',do you know I really enjoyed going to the Gate, the atmostspere, the anticipation, the game and mostly the journey home, compared to then, now is a drudge.

Do we have heroes like that today and a few names from the recent past jumped to mind, people like Gerry Gow who would bleed to death for our club would set the example..

    ...Mark Gavin,Scotty Murray,Tommy Doc,Brian Tinman,Sean Taylor,Adriano Basso,Bradley Orr,Steve Brooker,Louis Carey,Albert Adomah and Marv Elliot...

All of these I think had the will, pride and the passion to wear the Bristol City shirt.

Is there any I have missed that you would rate.

John Ateyo...Gibbo...Cris Crowe...Trevor Jacobs...John Galley....particularly from the 60'70's because wages were much the same as the man on the street could earn....

Steve Galliers was a firm favourite of mine at the time, as was David Moyes. And what about Steve 'Rambo' Johnson <laugh>

Boom Boom McCombe! so what if he was slow, always happy to head a striker's boot when required. Also for that overhead kick, one of my favourite ever goals just for how surprising it was.

Not the best footballer but Andy Llewellyn would have run through a brick wall for this club and would Rob "Biff" Newman....

I wouldnt put chris garland in the mix, I did consider him but he was our first 100000 pound footballer and came back when he didnt really make it Agree he did have a chunk of City in his heart though others a big chunk
