On paper we should win but we won last night so to keep with Steve Bruce's 25% career premier league win ratio then we have to lose.

We're at home and just three days after our last game with 10 out of 11 players already starting consecutive games. Expect changes.

Almiron will get on the score sheet.

This is the sort of game that bamboozles Bruce. We need to go back to how we played against West Ham, needs to be 10 yards further up the pitch and on the attack. We don't need five at the back, by which I mean play Yedlin/Willems this time and have them play off the halfway line then tuck Almiron/Max/Atsu closer to Joelinton. I'd swap out Shelvey for Longstaff and bring Schar in for Dummett.

We need to go at them, but we can't be over confident. They have gotten a few wins behind them now and will be up for this match.

Max is injured and players will be tired, so I expect a few changes to be made … i think joelinton will start wide left and carrol up top again … I think it's possible we see one of the lonstaffs and maybe shcar.. we play at 2pm on sunday and Southampton have had 24 hrs longer to rest. that extra days rest at this level during tis period will make the difference 0-1 away win

I have a funny feeling it'll be a bit of a tweak, I'd go with 5-3-2, with Joelinton and possibly Gayle up front instead of Max, Longstaff in for Shelvey, Almiron central, Schar in for whoever is the most tired, Yedlin in for Manky.

i think being at home is the ideal opportunity to give players a rest and still do ok. Southampton will likely have issues too

If we can't trust squad players to be at least on a par with the likes of Manquillo, Almiron, Clark and Shelvey, then we're the ones with real issues!!!

we can't because they're not as good, but we can hopefully get away with one or two on Sunday

Well three of those. Almiron still flatters to deceive, needs to be benched. Stuff needs to start happening from the right.

nailed on away win this one /!!! no max and too many tired legs .

1-2 Southampton

Any tips on parking for a relatively quick get away lads?

where are you staying ? if you're staying in Newcastle just walk from hotel.. thought you were staying sat night .. sorry if I recall incorrectly

I am but staying in Jesmond so won't be leaving the car there, wrong direction for me.

I used to park at Newcastle college scotswood road … 5 min walk to the ground and you can get on the a1 easy by just going over the redheugh bridge.. maybe someone else might know something better, but that's where i used to park, but didn't head for the a1, so i dunno how that will be post match.

Car park multi storey near to Arena and Redheugh Bridge. A little bit of a walk about 10-15 min but no bother getting out or traffic.

If your leaving at half time when you’re 3 down there’s one or two car parks right next to the ground but you’d need to get there early to get a spot. <cheers>

Cheers Groot I'll look that up.

No chance of me leaving early even if I wanted to though as I'm coming up with someone who supports you lot so we'll have to meet each other after.
