I think you will find it is now called an "Uprising". After Mark Duggan (loved his granny, pillar of The Community) was shot by the Police various parts of the capital witnessed some of the most extensive damage and looting for decades but participants refused to say they were rioting, instead they said they were all taking part in an uprising. Just happened to pick up a few pairs of trainers and flat screen TVs during the uprising.
