Trust a blunt Yorkshireman to deliver a perfect response to the 'tweeting' controversy: http://www.thesun.co.uk/sol/homepag...ts-not-always-wise-to-air-them-in-public.html At least he gave credit for our performance...
We said Mick. I somehow have the feeling that IF Henry's takle had got the player the yellow card it deserved, then none of this would have happened via social media.
Of course it wouldn't - but there's always going to be some officials who take Joey's past into consideration and don't punish all tackles on merit when they are dished out to him. His response was funny and in the spirit of the game. What I did see is that at the end, he was talking to Henry with a smile on his face, and as he walked away, it's clear Henry said something that severely changed Joey's mood, and I suspect the twatter-feeds have been prompted by that probably more than the tackle itself. The return game should be interesting.
McCarthy has done his fair share of sh|t stirring in his time, and when people come back at him he calmly says "I will not dignify that with an answer ...". He knows EXACTLY what he is doing and how to wind people up, then tries to take the moral high ground. He is a very shrewd operator when it comes to making comments and dealing with the press.
He is realizing that he has missed out on a top midfielder baggage and all Joey is miles better than what he has to work with
I don't mind Mick McCarthy - but by saying that Barton was touted to every club in the western hemisphere and sniffing he didn't fit into the Wolves Way(sic) he knew exactly what he was doing.
For once I agree with the big nosed Yorkshire/Irishman. Pointless tweeting from the likes of Barton only drags an already tainted sport further into the gutter. It's purile playground nonsense and I'd be first in the queue to vote for banning it. The only thing we are going to be bothered with when Wolves play us in the return match is how Barton and Henry get on. It is getting like boxing where the opponents square up at the pre-match warm up. School-boys in the park, jumpers for goalposts, three and in, baked beans for tea!!
Barton can say what he likes, its no better or worse than any of us do during any given day. Henry is a sunday morning footballing twat that tried to score points off Barton with that scissor tackle after being comprehensively outplayed for 90mins. He's just saying what everyone thinks. Kelvin Henry, **** player.
