Very interesting piece Mick. How about that (a new banner!) - Neil Lennon, 'the sum of all fears' - coined from the lips of a Rangers aficionado no less! As for "panjandrums" - nows there's a word I haven't heard since Samuel Foote used it .....sometime around 1755 I think. :emoticon-0138-think LOL!

Mick, it lays the issue bare. Fair play to the guy Kilpatrick. He got to the nub of the issue there. It also shows Spiers up for the arsehole that he is.

"Lennon grew up in Lurgan, the sober and tidy little town that welcomes us to Northern Ireland when we leave the ferry"

Um...Lurgan is in Armagh. The ferry goes to Larne, over 40 miles away. Also, both Lurgan and Larne are **** holes...like real **** holes.

    Orly.
Dozens of points in the article and all you can fault is a minor geography detail.
I take it you accept the rest of the Guardian's article.
Trevor Santos I don't know why people want to kill Nova. When did this happen? Last night ? last week ?
I also don't know why Rangers fans threatened the young Limavady player that Rangers signed in the summer or
why Edu was racially abused by Rangers fans coming out of Ibrox.

Whether I accept it or not isn't really important.

I've just pointed out a glaring factual inaccuracy. Some boy is writing about an issue and about a man but doesn't even have the wit to work out what town he's from and where that is. It's not N.I is a big place or takes up much room on the map ;)

Anyone putting stock in the rest of the article should bear that in mind and make their own decisions.

I seem to recall a few games where Lenny was subjected to boo's from his own support at Parkhead. Those sectarian bigots <shakeyfist>

I also was at a few games where Scotland Captain Barry Ferguson was mercifully boo'd by opposition fans.

And we all know how Rangers fans are treated when they turn out for their respected countries at Lansdowne Road/AVIVA stadium.

    MOPE ****s

that is obviously a disgrace and should be condemned.
a good thing to do would be to post that link, but to also condemn the actions of idiots towards lennon. afterall, that is what this thread is all about.

this whole attitude of 'yeah but what about the time you lot, blah blah blah' is quite pathetic.
if it's wrong, then bloody condemn it. stop the petty friggin point scoring.

in other words, grow the eff up.

Pretty heinous if true but I sincerely doubt that his tyres were slashed, his house windows were smashed and he received threatening letters "every time" he played against Celtic. I'd go much further than that and say I smell ****e. It's easy for him to say that but I don't recall those allegations ever being backed up with hard evidence, unlike in the Neil Lennon case(s).

He certainly received lots of abuse and only a fool would deny that there were some fans who sung that they wished he would die. It was Disgusting.

    But unless he :

    - Was sent death threats for playing for his country
-Was attacked in the street for simply going about his business (three times)
    - Was attacked on the touchline by an alleged "fan"
    - Had 24/7 security including a personal bodyguard
    - Having to stay at a "safe house"
    - Had received "Viable" explosive devices

then there simply is no comparison with Neil Lennon. None at all.

What happened to Novo was abhorrent but sadly nothing compared to what Lennon has had to put up with.

    What's sad about it Dev?

Did you wish that Novo was sent bombs?

    Wit!

You said that it was sad that the level of threat levelled at Novo wasn't as extreme as the threats levelled at Lennon.

Sounds as if you'd have welcomed such abhorrent acts if it was a Rangers player on the recieving end.

    You're being purposefully disingenuous EDGE.

    No I'm not.

    What's sad about it?

Dev is saying that it is SAD that Novo wasn't faced with the same level of threat levelled at the likeable Brit - Lennon.

    Hypocritical ****s

  20. **** sake <doh>

Reasoning with a history-rewriter is hard ****ing work.

I think Dev that you're supposed to say that the song about Novo and a post on a forum about him is FAAAAARRRR worse than the treatment Lennon gets (which he brings on himself and deserves anyway).

Of course, if you say anything about a Rangers song, it's just a ****ing song for **** sake how easily o'ffended are you?

I worry that they're brains actually work like this sometimes.
