We have no keepers as Burge is injured and McLaughlin has been called up. Would you play an u23 keeper in that game?Dosnt make sense to me
We ramming games in left right and centre
Unless we have a spot somewhere in our tight calendar
We will probable fit it in between a Tuesday and Saturday game ( that’s our mentality )
We actually haven’t got a settled side or even know our settled side
So really we need not of cancelled that game
Everyone in the side is replaceable we have no stars
Most certainly wouldWe have no keepers as Burge is injured and McLaughlin has been called up. Would you play an u23 keeper in that game?
Most certainly would
Remember we had camp and steel
The young goalkeepers are proffesional footballers and must be given the opportunity
We don’t have a good side and do you think the goalkeeper change is worth the fixture congestion
In this league we already play more games ie extra cup games etc etc
In the top leagues they play less games
We need to try and avoid any postponements
Remember there is a few teams in this league that have poor playing pitches
And are more likely to have our game postponed
No manager in the world would go into a game with one keeper, if he gets injured we can't bring another keeper on and then we don't have cover for the one fit keeper at the club until Burge comes back. Most certainly would

That can happen to anyone thoughI can see it now - the young U23 keeper makes a mistake and then the fans will be on the clubs back for not postponing the game - the club just can't win.

I've looked all over for confirmation of that rule but I can't find it Hank, it makes sense in the modern game with 18 man squads though.I thought it was a rule you had to have two keepers ( least one sub )
Under normal circumstances ie we were a top league team it would be ok to re arrange the game, but due to the backlog that it will cause and the pressure on our poor squad I think we should have playedThe goalkeeper issue is a problem, Abdelkader looks like a risk too far if reports on his last game are anything to go by, so maybe the right decision has been made.
Yes maybe in hindsight it would of been better not cancelling the previous games in international week with the squad we haveFixture congestion might become an issue, but I had more of a problem with us postponing other games, our squad should be good enough to cope with 3 being away. I think this is a different matter though, you wouldn't want to go into a game with only a youth keeper to call upon. It's probably the most key position, and one that young lads often struggle in, very rare to see really good young keepers. Definitely the right call
I would have thought most of the players in league one are either U23 or dinosaurs? We have no keepers as Burge is injured and McLaughlin has been called up. Would you play an u23 keeper in that game?
And if they have reached a grand old age of say 28 they must be no good .........????????????I would have thought most of the players in league one are either U23 or dinosaurs?
Sadly I would have thought that they would have to begin to look at other options in life if they’ve reached that age and are still in league one, there will be exceptions of course. I wonder what the average age is for the premiership teams is?And if they have reached a grand old age of say 28 they must be no good .........????????????
