I really feel I can share on this thread. My dad, when he was alive had a superb rock collection. He asked me to video/photograph it before he died. I think he knew as soon as he popped his cloggs my mother would sell the lot like she did.
Here's a crystal with a gas bubble in it. How the **** did that happen?

Happens all the time. Most of those big crystals formed in spaces previously occupied by gas and just trapped the gas inside when they formed. Amazing thing is that the gas is still trapped inside and we can stick a probe in and analyse gas that is millions of years old.
Use these a lot in my business for mapping out movement of oil and gas. Here's a bubble of oil trapped when the mineral has formed.

Yeah we had some heavy rain overnight and it woke me up at some point but seems to have cleared now n got blue skies with a proper wintery sun.
