Have people actually said this **** to him, though? It seems a little far fetched, to me. Kill your wife? I hope your kid gets cancer? I'm guessing that this is crap from Twitter, rather than idiots at matches. If you don't like social media abuse, then either turn it off, go private or let your agent run it. It's just keyboard warriors trolling you. He ****ed up and he should hold his hands up and accept responsibility. This is a non-apology. He doesn't think that he's done anything wrong and won't change. He feels justified in his actions.
I think it's probably twitter stuff. And yes, he should just switch it off or let somebody else run it for him Fans at games have been giving him stick yes, but that's because his performances are so frustrating. I don't agree with the sarcastic cheering and berating him, but that's part of football and as a professional you have to take this **** on the chin and get on with it. Bottom line is, he's just not good enough for our team. Emery should sell him in January. We've got better options in Guendouzi and Torreira in his position.
He's your captain, though. Emery won't sell him. I still don't know what he's supposed to be. A holding player? Deep-lying playmaker? Box-to-box? What's his job? He's got a good longshot on him, but his discipline is appalling and he doesn't offer enough to start regularly, let alone wear the armband.
He should be stripped of that captaincy asap. Xhaka should have apologised that evening and vowed to repair the damage created with the fans. He's got a decent long range pass on him and as you say a good left foot shot. But other than that, he slows down play, passes sideways and backwards and is guaranteed to get himself booked at least every other game. In short, he's little more than a liability. I'd love to see him prove me wrong and come back stronger after this debacle, but it ain't gonna happen.
Bit odd that he refers to social media trolls, who he could just not read, in his excuse for what he did in the actual stadium. I know it's already been said but no way on earth are those things said to him during a match, in the ground, so they can't be used to excuse what he did. I've never sat in a crown that boos it's own players but fans do give stick/verbals, usually if a player isn't pulling his weight. He needs to take that on the chin, should have apologised for his actions. He most likely wasn't pulling his weight and was playing ****, he's bound to get some reaction if he then saunters off the pitch. What someone on Twitter might have said is irrelevant to that.
The precious **** wants to be thankful he doesn’t play for us, we booed Schneiderlin onto the ****ing pitch the other year.
He was actually having a fairly decent game against Palace, but the frustration from fans was after months of him putting in sub par performances. Like you say he just needs to take that **** on the chin, roll up his sleeves and work harder. As for the twitter stuff, again like you say, that's got **** all to do with fans in the stadium.
west ham will destroy the toon tomorrow ! another **** weekend of football and another bullshit explanation from Bruce.
have they though ? we finished pretty close to them last two seasons tbf ..better but not far better and I would hope we might be able to string 3 passes together rather than park the bus and get another red card to add to our collection
