For kids, yeah. I carved two pumpkins last night and am very proud of them, I should have taken pics!! The kids will go out trick or treating tonight round our way and have a good time and then the Mum's will go back to one of the houses and have a drink. I don't see any issue with it, if you've got a pumpkin or lantern lit in your house, then people knock. If you haven't they shouldn't. It's adults getting dressed up and having Halloween do's I don't get. It's a kids night ffs.
Halloween in my house is mainly just me sat on the sofa eating sweets ignoring the knocks at the door.
yeah, that pretty much makes it pagan, like all religious festivals, everywhere. The ancient dieties of the sun or the moon will be involved somewhere in their dated histories. The child inside you is dead.
No, not at all. I carved those pumpkins last night with gusto! I still wouldn't go out dressed up to a Halloween do amongst other adults though. I've never really done the fancy dress thing though, ever. Well up for a laugh, just not a dressed up and feeling a right prick laugh.
The veil between the living and the dead being at it's thinnest, due to night surpassing day in length at this time of year. That's the pagan version. To Catholics, it's a day to pray for the souls of the departed (nothing to do with the Scorsese movie. Or perhaps it is).
Mrs luv has bought a plain black mask, it's well dodgy and looks like she's blacked up. This could be fun.
Obviously it’s American bollox but we tend to get involved and host a party as the kids find it fun. I carve the pumpkins. This year my main pumpkin wasn’t feeling well. please log in to view this image
