It's a shame it's this match after Red Star. Almost any other game would have been better. It's because normal rules don't apply, for example it's not like we're going to get a penalty is it? (But they may well do.)
We practically need to win. A draw doesn't really do much in our mission to claw back points while a loss leaves us with a hell of a lot to do and another knock to the side's confidence.
Don't you think a draw is a good result and certainly a confidence booster considering our form? Great result against Red Star but they are dire...ex Huddersfield town players and such like. Today will be a bit more intricate and will require a higher level from us I think the type of performance we get today will be telling as to where we are mentally
It's better than a loss for sure, both mathematically and from a confidence standpoint but in the long run, with the amount we're already behind other teams, a win is what's needed. We've ****ed ourselves so badly this early on by losing games to Newcastle/ Brighton and drawing with Watford that it now means we have to get a result away at Liverpool to keep pace.
Dozey Gwen prevents Zaha from running clear into Arsenal's half with nobody there in the 95th minute. Yellow? He rugby tackles him!
Shows exactly what is wrong with the Laws. A coming together in our penalty box with both players going for the ball is deemed worth a goal to Liverpool and costs us a point whereas a deliberate foul receives no punishment in terms of points at all.
“I had to foul Zaha at the end, otherwise he is through on goal on his own.” - Guendouzi. Even if he gets a red, it's not a significant punishment in the last minute of injury time. Total no-brainer for him to make the foul.
