Tbh with both Leicester and Chelsea being 8 points clear of us we have a massive fight on to get anywhere near the top four. 8 points is a lot to make up even with 28 games to play.
Agreed. I said before the season started I was hugely worried about Leicester but no one could have foreseen how well Chelsea would do with Lampard in charge and zero signings. Realistically we now need to take a minimum of 4 points from Chelsea and beat Leicester in our home game against them later in the season. We cannot rely on them dropping so many points without our input.
It’s not going to be pretty if we do miss out on top four. In fact I dread it. Can’t see Kane and Son wanting to stay here without Champions League football, both are at stages where they’re far too good for Europa League.
One season missing out on European football wouldn’t necessarily mean they’d want out would it? Spurs could use it as an advantage for league form like teams have before.
If they were like Tanguy/ Gio/ Sess and just joined, then I don’t think it would but with this being Kane’s 6th (first team wise) and Son’s 5th seasons at the club, to go from 3rd, 2nd, 3rd, 4th and then out of top four doesn’t represent career progression for them and whilst I genuinely do think both love being here, I think they’d have to make a conscious decision as to where they’ll need to be in their careers come this summer.
Load of bollocks to give up on anything after 9 games Top 4 is still on...I don't think 8 points is massive. It's about mentality...City chase down 8 point leads in February. We got to play Chelsea twice and Lesta at Home..if they want Top 4 it's there to be taken.
Yes of course...get a run together and you've got a chance. Once again it's mentality init? You've got the players...but do they want it? As a fan you can tell what the demeanour of your team is.
At the moment they are very poor, first bad pass or **** shot and the heads go down as if it's just not their day. That said, so far we have beat Chelsea and Leicester and got score draws against Arsenal and Liverpool (both of which we should have won). If we click we can indeed get up amongst the top teams but i have not really seen any signs of that yet.
No, because fate has decided that you were put on this earth to make a tit out of yourself with your increasingly desperate attempts to WUM our forum
Well thank you for the invitation You are of course correct ... but we will of course enjoy the moment ... and our young team are a joy to watch right now.
This shocking form isn’t just 9 games though is it. League form since February has been dire. Today will be the 10th league game and let’s assume they lose, that will be 3 wins from 10 and could easily end in the bottom half of the table. Top 4 is gone.
The mentality of this Spurs squad doesn’t feel me with confidence that they can turn this 9month slump around though.
Can't say I blame you KH Need a positive result today for me to think we might just be turning a corner.
Are Chelsea this good or is Lampard having a "mad 5 minutes" as manager as was Ole at United? Time will tell. (Leicester's manager too?)
