Palace are a weird team...they were awful at our place...we were 4 up at half time. Rose had his only good match since April and Aurier looked like a professional footballer Ayew makes a pain of himself but Zaha tries to do everything himself. Cahill looked like his legs had gone. Do not understand Ozil...richer than God so why does he not **** off and play somewhere else on a reasonable wage? Decent teams in Italy or Spain would take a risk on him.
We are so hit and miss at the moment though, so **** knows what will happen on Sunday. Hoping Zaha doesn't try and prove a point against us for missing out on his dream summer move. But yeah, they look like they are creaking a bit and Cahill is definitely done for pace, so we'll probably play it sideways and backwards so that he doesn't have to run too much. As for Ozil, there's an argument that he's had his chance at Arsenal. He goes missing in so many crucial games, but that said his stats say that he's still one of Arsenal's most creative players. He's created more chances than any other player in the team, by a county mile. I think Emery is trying to force him out to free up the £350k wages, but so far Ozil has just said he's happy to stay put. So it looks like a stalemate.
I thought Winks was supposed to be the next big thing at Spurs ? Ain't wumming here, but whenever I've seen him play he looks very pedestrian. He doesn't really seem to have any part of his game that he excels at. Not saying he's a bad player, but he just doesn't look anything special. He reminds me of a poor man's Scott Parker.
Spurs fans sre split on him tbh. I think he is underated and is being blamed for the problems in the team whereas players like Rose have been given a free reign. He is good for some games and is a good squad player. Bringing him on when you trying to see out a game would be a great use of his ability to keep hold of the ball.
I'd say there's only a split because fans are too sentimental with the "one of our own" tag that they view him through rose-tinted specs. If we paid £30m for him fans would be fuming.
Disagree...he has become a scape goat so on Saturdsy was given grief whereas Rose, Vertonghen and Alderweireld we agsin given a free pass when they were really poor. He is a hod carrier...sometimes a tesm needs them...he is playing in games when its not needed due to injuries to other midfielders in my opinion. If he is used properly ... like when we are in front or holding on for a draw and is brought on as a sub it would be a valuable contribution. Unfortunately for him he has been played with Sissoko to protect a pisspoor performing back line. Hopefully Davies, Foyth and Sessegnon becoming fit and Sanchez regaining some form will solve that problem or at least lessen it greatly.
This put me in mind of Jermaine Defoe, who to this day remains the only player I have ever seen hit the big screen above the goal at St Mary's - from 6 yards out. I'm still impressed by that bf.
Mate with respect that's simply untrue. The fanbase is tired of Rose and Toby whilst Jan has come in for stick, too. Using Winks properly means sticking him on the bench. If he's in the XI then you know Poch has had a brainfart.
Talking of those players, who's going to replace them ? Sanchez at one of the CB positions obviously, but Foyth maybe in the other ? Or are you going to play him at LB instead of Rose. And also please tell me that Harry Winks is Erkisen's replacement, thanks.
You got a little bit spiteful when I showed you those Spurs misses from 4 yards earlier. I'm glad to see that you've chilled now mate.
Foyth was being earmarked for right bsck I think but Vertonghen can also play there. Lo Celso is supposed to be Eriksen's replacement but was injured for Argentina at the beginning of September and has only just returned... So hard luck
