I posted an entirely sensible comment on a topic on the Ipswich board accusing us of cheating, and it was deleted! It wasn't even slightly WUM, but it appears the Ipswich mod wants to behave like a little child, that's his decision entirely. If they are going to delete any comment we post on there, they might as well go to a non multi-club forum. <doh>

At least we don't have to waste time looking over there, no point if we are not allowed to comment!

I must admit I'm surprised at Hampy being such an arse, but there you go! <ok>
 
I will explain why I locked them although I do not have to.......................

The ITFC esteemed leader chose to place at least 4 wum threads on the board which got up the nose of more than 1 person and as the forum is for everyone and not just the biggest mouth pieces some kind of action was warranted.

I requested that Hamps & his gang back off a little to let things simmer down by PM. There was no 'telling' him what to do (although there was a temptation to do just that :wink:)

The next post by him was
If people didn't want a bit of banter on the subject they wouldn't be at the top of the board. I can take what I can dish out - and you have to admit there is a huge whiff of hypocrisy.
True, but not everyone want's it and not everyone goes on to the Ipswich board to do it either.

You can merge them if you wish - Which I did, something he should have done in his first post (i.e - 1 thread to vent his spline) instead of a full on wum attack. As a moderator he ought to know better.

No apologies via the thread or by PM but I know he had seen the PM by that time.
Instead of backing off, as far as I could see he just wanted to continue arguing that it was only intended as good nature 'banter'.

He did however go on to concede he had gone 'OTT' on the Ipswich board but still no apology forthcoming on here. Whatever else he did on the Ipswich board is up to him.

As a moderator of this board I was not going to accept further arguments on any of the topics he had raised as it had alienated more than 1 or our members and did not want to risk losing more.

It is my prerogative as I have earned the right to moderate on behalf of ALL Norwich supporters who chose to use the forum and I will take in to account ALL supporters feelings, not just a few and if it looks like we are losing members because of the action of other members from another team - I will come down on the side of our supporters nearly every time.

It is not easy to get the balance right 100% of the time because football is an emotional game and we tend to let our hearts rule more than our heads, especially when our teams are being criticized by our local rivals.

For those from both sides that wish to continue winding each other up I will say this.... Do it and the Norwich forum is going to end up like a graveyard.

If that is what you want, tell me now either on here or by PM. If enough of you want that I will stand down as moderator and just let you all get on with it.
 
Thai and Dave - I think you both do a great job. Having four threads on the same subject is stupid, I can only assume that perhaps Hampy had been drinking and was being a bit silly as a result (I've done it myself).

When threads turn into pointless arguments (and we all know the difference between banter and argument) they should be closed, the forum isn't here for argument, its here for discussion and debate.

And also, for the record, I thought it was a violent and disgusting headbutt clearly aimed at causing Tierney as much damage as possible, therefore red card was justified ;-)
 
Thank you PC from us both, and Thai, may I say publicly, that I am over the moon (well, it is a football forum) to have you as a fellow mod, for your intelligence, for your obvious love of all things NCFC, and also for the fact that you always know the right path to take in a stressful situation!

To the group of NCFC supporters that post on here, be assured that we will always fight your corner! To the vast majority of Ipswich fans that post on here, be assured you are welcome to carry on doing so, we don't believe in petty tit for tat retaliation!

To supporters of ALL other teams, we offer you an old-fashioned Norfolk welcome! All we ask is that you read our 'house rules' in a sticky near the top of the page!

I don t think Thai had a problem with WUM articles, he just stated that if the same poster writes 3 or 4 on the same day it would be more energy efficient to keep them linked.........
I enjoy the banter from the binners, especially as their crappy team gives us so much ammo.... Threads where everyone just writes" i agree we are brilliant aren t we" are much more likely to drive away members than a good old fashioned good natured slanging match........
Warkys wife can certainly take it, and given the right Anne Summers equipment almost certainly gives it, wrong un styleee ...... Continuity is key :emoticon-0114-dull:
