With a slimy crook like Johnson as PM it needs someone like Bercow to stand up to him. Thank God he’s there.
I think you do support his decision you are just confused.
Bercow ruled we must follow the letwin amendment which states we must have more debate on brexit rather than vote straight away. Which is the same thing you seem to be saying.
Here’s an excellent example of why the WAB has to be scrutinised with a fine tooth comb. If a Free Trade Agreement with the EU isn’t finalised by December 2020 (most FTA’s take years remember) then we leave with No Deal.

I would prefer a referendum first. The result enacted then a bit of a breather before an election, not rushed but time for manifestos to be published and argued in hopefully in a less hysterical fashion than the leave debate.

Beddy take note, this is one of many potentially harmful clauses in the WAB all have to be examined and eliminated.

Beddy, I hope this doesn't come over as patronising but having read your contributions to this thread I have to say that you don't appear to fully understand the issues here. Bercow maybe partisan to an extent but hs conduct has been in my opinion above reproach. I have spent all my life in politics and my best friend was a whip in the Brown administration. My point in saying this isn't to boast, although I know it may come across that way, but in an attempt to explain to you the possible reason why you appear so beleaguered on here.
This was literally the section of the deal I was referencing late last night when I said we could agree an extension however my poor knowledge of british parliament and terminology may have let me down here.
Can anyone give me a definition of 'minister of the crown'. I had assumed it was a legal term that just meant any minister because they all serve the crown so I was fine with it but I just googled it and it seems it may be something similar to the cabinet but I'm still not sure I understand.
It doesnt sound like ministers can just put forward a bill for us to pass so we can extend like I had thought.

The government has a responsibility to do everything in it’s power, to protect the country and all of it’s citizens from harm.
What we are witnessing is a gross dereliction of that responsibility.
The entire Brexit referendum was built on lies, deceit and misinformation. I don’t think even you would deny that, but linking this to your above comment, the government has an absolute duty to prevent harm to it’s economy and the future welfare of the people.
This government is not doing this and are deliberately trying to prevent the latest deal from close scrutiny.
As Starmer pointed out, deregulation of workers rights, to fall into line with the USA, would be incredibly harmful to the workforce. Maybe you are content with the idea that your grandchildren, at some time in the future, will be offered a job with just 10 days annual leave?
The entire Brexit situation has been created by very wealthy people who want to get richer quicker and avoid being hit by the new tax laws that will chase their hidden money. It has absolutely nothing to do with improving the life of the general public. End of.
Did you know that currently there are 35 companies with government contracts, where they are receiving in excess of £100 million.
24 of those 35 companies are based in tax havens, making absolutely no contribution to our services, that their employees and their families use.
This is what Brexit is all about and to go back to your comment, yes absolutely the government must do what is right for the country and not what is right for the rich people who are sponsoring them through donations.

I'm beleaguered on here because I voted to leave....as previously explained I have my own personal reasons and that will never change. However I do listen and ask questions so as to learn why others have an opposing view..........Some have excellent reasons and I understand clearly their point of view and to a point agree even. I have never been associated with any political party and like you and when it comes to General Elections I vote for who I believe is best for the country at the time. My personal experience aside, I did way up some of the things I dislike about the EU and still do. (I'm not going to go into all that again) However I am always willing to compromise but most of you to me have indicated you are not prepared to do that. That does not seem right IMO.........However I'm always willing to listen.............

What do you mean by compromise? I personally, as far as the WAB is concerned, can't compromise on full scrutiny of this flawed bill. I'm seeing now the government is trying to push (ram) the bill through with three days debate. No time at all for such a complex piece of legislation. No compromise on the need for a referendum either, so what's left?
I'm sorry Beddy but I cannot possibly see how you could have "Personal Reasons" for supporting Brexit. I cannot think of another issue less likely to be decided by such criteria. I can only surmise that you have some deep seated grudge against another nationality, but that isn't really relevant to such a political decision. I must admit to total perplexification on this.
I had to chuckle at the Raab C Brexit "Dover Moment" that Brexit secretary Stephen Barclay suffered yesterday. On being asked if good being exported from Northern Ireland into the UK Mainland would require paperwork and customs declaration he replied with an unequivocal "No". He was then forced to "clarify" the situation immediately by saying "yes, it would".
Man I've already said previously that I am biased because of personal dealings.......and that will have to suffice I'm afraid as they are not open for discussion I have made that very plain. Parts of my reasoning has been discussed and I accept the majority of you disagree. I don't have a problem with the people that disagree as long as there is no name calling.......simples as they say........
