Bottom line is that if it gets the right result then, for me, that's the best outcome ... the rules and implementation need addressing otherwise VAR is always going to get blamed for some teams being just a bit crap ...<cheers>

It wasn't the same before var though as now no goal is a goal until var confirms it. I've been to both var matches and a non var match this season and to suggest there's no difference is beyond ridiculous.

As I said yesterday, we obviously disagree on this issue but just because it doesn't affect you in that way it doesn't mean it's not a genuine concern for some people.

Do you think I'm lying about it?

How many games have you been to this year out of interest? I'd say it's about 50-50 of the people I've been stood near so far this season.

TBF I never celebrate a goal until 5 minutes after the restart anyway. Always the most dangerous time to concede.

Course I don't think you are lying, ya plum ... but both Wolves and Spurs fans celebrated 'goals' at ours ... which were then ruled out by VAR ... didn't notice the celebrations stopping until it went to VAR review ... did then ... but the subsequent celebrations in the home end were pretty fine <laugh>
 
At the end of the day VAR does help get more decisions correct as it will always be right on stuff like offside. The PL doesn't give a **** about the fans who go to the games as they make up probably less than 1% of the viewing audience each week. You can make an argument that the reason the PL is so popular round the world to fans watching is the full stadiums and atmosphere but until that takes a big hit and the TV companies start losing viewers then nothing is going to change.

Wolves was the opening day wasn't it? There's also an example of thousands of Wolves fans singing '**** var' immediately after it awarded them a goal, so they obviously felt robbed of the moment...

Like I said mate, there's two arguments with VAR, the principle of it where we're not ever going to to agree. And then the implementation of it which we can agree isn't working as promised so far.

It will be a few seasons before VAR gets ironed out. Refs will get used to it and minor tweaks will be made and I expect less talking points as we go forward. It will take time though.

However I dont get the point of the pitch side monitor. Fair enough if the var bloke has the final say, then so be it, but at least declare that's the case.

It kills the celebrations at games...you start to go wild and then look at the ref standing with his finger in his ear wondering wtf is going on...it's bollocks for match going fans.

It gets factual hand ball/offside decisions correct cos they are simply factual...but the penalties for fouls are opinions and for that it is complete ****.
Arsenal had a stone wall penalty denied last night...funny as **** but wrong.
Watford had a stonewall penalty denied against us...funny as **** again but wrong
Spurs had a stone wall penalty denied against Newcastle and another when Dele was throw over off the ball against arsenal...great injustices and wrong.

VAR is doing nothing to sort that out...it's **** all to do with teams being **** and everything to do with stupidity...why is the ref not allowed to go and look at his stupid original decision and correct it...it is what happened at the world cup and happens in European football but here we make a complete bollocks up of it.

I genuinely do not goto spurs expecting to win...I go cos I love it and am lucky enough to be to afford to go to some games but EVERY goal I have seen us score this season has seen dampened celebrations due to VAR and that is spoiling going to football imho

It's the same for people at home, I didn't celebrate Lallana scoring as VAR had got involved twice already.
