Yes, I've been down the Beer Store today (and tomorrow) helping to get the beer deliveries in - all good fun. <ale>

So, Monday sees the start of this event https://www.camra.org.uk/events/norwich-beer-festival-2019/. Up t 15 volunteers spent many hours on both Thu and Fri getting some 500 casks of beer into the Beer Store and many more today were involved in getting the vnue transformed ready for the crowds which hopefully will start queueing from early Monday evening.

In addition to the numerous cask beers, we have an amazing selection of World Beers (several are GF!!), and in addition an absolute abundance of ciders to suit most palates.

I’ll actually be volunteering in the World Beers Marquee on Thu, Fri and Sat evenings

Starting any sentence with 'so' is not allowed, sorry!

And Cromer nil!

So I was going to talk about the Chip Inn. I won't necessarily be banging the drum for it. For the second consecutive visit the Haddock has fallen short of their formerly high standards. We visited on Saturday lunch time only to find it empty. Gone seemingy the days where they had queues out of the door and given my own deminished experience, i'm wondering if I'm not the only one noticing a drop off in quality.

As for those getting the awards I have not tried two, but have to say had some from Chish and Fips in Angel Road during City of ale and it was bang average. Stafford st has concistently been better than that for my money. And what of the much previously vaunted Lucy's or Grosvenor?

Bah!

VERY interesting General.
I had fish and chips from the Chip Inn when I visited my brother in early summer and the chips were not very nice at all.
The Orford Plaice accolade is really surprising - I've never been in and have no intention of doing so.
The new owners in Stafford Street have succeeded in maintaining the quality that has always existed there IMO.

I've only been in once since it changed hands and as you say, it was still good.

Bah!
