I notice that Pixie has gone very quiet.

The chuckles seem to have died.

Quents ... the very fact that Spurs are making such a big thing of something so routine tells you all you need to know about the current state of the club, fella ... but thanks for sharing and providing such a wonderful opportunity for more piss taking on here <laugh>

Come off it, Bambs!

This dinner invite shows squad unity. It can only be a positive thing, and you know it.

They'll eat a little food, drink a little wine, tell a few funny stories, and those lads will walk away firing on all cylinders.

BREAKING NEWS!

POCH GETS INVITE TO PLAYERS'DINNER IN A DRAMATIC DEMONSTRATION OF UNITY

Tottenham boss Mauricio Pochettino is convinced his squad are still behind him because he has been invited to a team dinner by one of his players.

Pochettino's position is under scrutiny after a run of three wins from 11 games in all competitions so far this season.

However, the Argentine says his invitation to dinner via text message proves the team are still united.

"They are not about to say goodbye to me. To say goodbye, say goodbye here - not inviting me to dinner," he said.

Speaking at a news conference before Saturday's Premier League match at home to Watford, Pochettino said: "When you receive a text from the player inviting you and the coaching staff for a dinner only two things can happen. [It's] because they want to say goodbye. Or because they feel that they love you and they want to show that they are with you. And I think it's the second."

Spurs lost 3-0 at Brighton in their last Premier League match before the international break, just four days after a 7-2 thrashing by Bayern Munich in the Champions League. The north London club were also beaten on penalties by League Two Colchester in the Carabao Cup earlier this month. That poor run of results led to speculation Pochettino could use the January transfer window to try and turn things around. Pochettino has dismissed that suggestion, however, and says January would be too late to try instigate a change in form anyway.

"I never was keen on January and I will not change now because it is a tough period or tough few games, I'm not going to change the way I think or see things," he added. "We are not going to force anything because we believe the squad is a decent squad. Now we need to be strong our decision was right, because we are suffering a storm now we cannot now change quick. Now it's the time to be responsible. First me and then the players, everyone. My opinion, the way I love to work, is that when you take decisions in the summer and then you need to be responsible and then you need to find the way to make that work. Now is not a point to talk about January, refreshing the team. Now is about trying to find solutions because we need to win tomorrow and we need to win after tomorrow. We need solutions now. We cannot think, 'OK, we forget now and in January we are going to fix the problem'. It's not like this."

There are going to be a lot of red faces around here.

This is desperate stuff from both Poch and Kipper.

Speaks volumes that Poch feels that he has to broadcast a non story and spin it into one of 'unity'.

It's not a non story though

The Media, fans, wanabee WUMs, radio and TV...infact everyone thinks that he's lost the dressing room

Obviously that's not a non story so to hopefully ease the bullshit he's mentioned it.

In other words he's telling y all to STFU

The very fact that he feels he has to come out and chat **** about how much his players love him says it all fam.

Bollocks!

Poch is making it clear to the poisonous hack journos that he and the lads are still very much together.

Poch is also demonstrating that he has no intention of leaving the club.

Somehow, you don't seem to be so chucklesome, this morning, mate.

Nah Kips, it's funny as **** seeing you and Poch trying to spin a routine social into some kind of special show of unity. :)

Yes it says he knows what the Media etc etc are saying so he's countered the bullshit by announcing it so the whole media and weak WUMs can fill their boots on that.

We already know the state of our club...we don't need confirmation or anything and Poch coming out with this isn't a revelation to us...it's obvious why he mentioned it.

If there wasn't an issue, it wouldn't be an issue. <ok>

I don't get it. Spurs fans happy about Poch staying? If this turns out to be true, it's great news for rival fans. Not quite sure why Spurs fans would be so happy too though. That would be like Arsenal fans being happy when Wenger stubbornly stuck around season after season, or United fans being happy that Moyes, LVG and Mourinho stubbornly stuck around at OT for quite as long as they did.
