but as I said the other day we would be mullered sooner or later Only consolation is that it has happened already this season to teams better than us. Just hope it gives everyone involved a wake up call that we can not go on indefinitely "scraping" 1 nils or nil nil Dreading the second half
Its difficult to pick fault with the exceptional start to the season, but I have been very vocal for the past 18 months about our issues with poseesion and the inabilty to work the ball out of trouble! Apart from WP, we have only strengthened strong areas and have not added let alone improved our weaknesses which are blatantley obvious to the most avid and rose tinted of supporters! Today was due sooner or later, but we are a window away from having the opportunity to put it right!
Ive always said with good performances come results and this season so far we are very very lucky to have as many points as we have. The game v norwich we were terrible and STOLE a point, the game v west brom someone please tell me how we won that and the liverpool game we were hammered and somehow won. Im not trying to be negative just honest, this season even though we have 8 points our performances have been poor. Tin hat on ready for the abuse but this is my opinion of which im entitled to. We cant keep playing like this and pushing our luck, if we do expect more hammerings this season.
Ric i know you hate me & want me off this site, but i totally agree with you. We have not played any FOOTBALL since the FA Semi-Final, the results this this season have flattered us, we have been very, very poor. How the hell journalists can see us challenging for top 6 is beyond me, in my eyes we are still an average side, in an average league (top 3-4 aside), our eyes have been opened today, just hope other posters realise that despite results, we are not as good as the media believe.
Well I agree with you Ricc, as a wise man said 4 years ago "In the prem you can't play square pegs in round holes or you'll get punished" Thank you Tony Pulis for those wise words. We've had a hell of a lucky start to the season and it seems to have run out today, we played very poor and got the result we deserved.
Still think relegation is a possibility, if we don't start creating chances. Matty and Jermaine have been awful so far this season, we're just not creating anything. Chelsea aside, every other point we've had, we've been a bit lucky to get.
I dont hate you at all mate but I dont like some of the things you post on here as some of the things you write bring lots of opposing fans onto our board slating us. on another topic...............I just want us to sometimes keep the ball and look up for a player to pass to wo is withing 40 yards, hopefully this result will tell the players that they need to rasie their game.
Listen lads, i have had my warning, & i will adhere to it, General Chat & Stoke City will never be mentioned by me again, I'm just sorry for causing other Stoke Fans the hassle that included General Chat. PS today we were awfull
Do share your conern sarge regarding Pennant and Etherington. They just don't seem to be the force they were last season, plus I think we all know from a season ago that Huth at RB DOES NOT WORK!! Hopefully TP will reset the side to Huth and ShawX back in the middle with Wilko at RB. Upson and Woodgate as decent back up on the bench. LB? Who knows, but I would much rather see Wilson in midfield with Palacios. As Smithers says, in January we need to bring in a LB and a CM with more creativity about them please! Haven't followed the game in detail and not looking forward to MOTD2 but this is definitely a wake up call!! KTF boys!!!
I am going to post this on threads that are appropriate: NORMAL SERVICE HAS BEEN RESUMED LATER THAN DESERVED No apologies for the misquotation.
Mighty Huth, No bother mate.. I think you know what you did? And, we the Stoke fans will no doublt reap our share of wumming from the North East.. I am currently sitting in a Cyber cafe just outside Newcastle on Tyne, on my way back from the SOL. Staying with family in Cramlington until Monday. Not sure how many of the regulars on here did go too the game but we wre not awful.... we were a ******* embarassment today. Had to have a laugh with a few Mackem's after the game. I didn't know what else to do in honesty.. Sunderland played well but, WHY the hell T.P. picked that starting 11 only HE KNOWS? ONE of the worst days I can remember in a long, long time. Now, only about 20mins to travel.. I will be out in the toon tonight.. You guessed right.. to drown my sorrows and get well and turly HAMMERED... and we were hammered/out played/out fought/out classed/ out thought tactically.. To think we have Utd next weekend.. KTF? tonight it's bloody hard to do that
Understood Potts. It's hard enough taking a battering when I am in the comfort of my own home, but to travel that distance to witness a total bloody nightmare you have my sympathies! One day we will bask (I hope!) in a Stoke team confident in turning other teams over when we are away from the relative saftey of the Brit. Ah well, I can dream!! Safe journey home Potts.
well we were due for a rolling over and Sunderland were due for a win -what more could be said? I must admit from the highlights we looked like we give as much as we got, but that doesn't mean we did well! It was just one of those days, everything went perfectly for Sunderland, and we just couldn't find the goal. Unfortunately it's more of the same style from us next week - unless we're going to try and outplay Man U
