I wouldn't be against the idea. With someone from the area and who actually supports Sunderland, this can only be a good thing. Someone to watch over and have input
Sounds good in principle but if they only have a minority shareholding can't they just be voted down?

To watch over Donald and all his successful decisions over the last 16 months? When are people going to realise that their time here has been a shambles so far and they’ve just continued our decline

Although if true we will have to eat humble pie it might just keep us ticking over.

the most concerning thing will be what exactly stopped this promising sale.

if it comes out that SD was the reason he will be living on borrowed time with Sunderland....

The fans will have a meltdown ,they thought they where getting Dell and co to take us to the top now it looks like O’Brein .****ing hell ..
maybe, just maybe and I am thinking out loud here, he did say he was "trying to get involved". Maybe the guy in question has tried to muscle in and put himself forward to the Yanks as a local lad to take us forward as opposed to a bloke with no connections other than a financial interest. All guesswork cos I don't think this MSD thing is happening

Not every decision of his has been a bad one. No one knows exactly why the American investment hasn't worked out but time will tell

Most of the big ones have been poor.

Appointing JR. Poor
Not sacking JR sooner. Poor
Hill and Coton. Poor
W Grigg. Poor

Fan zones and new seats don’t count a big calls.

I like SD and have defended his interests in the club, but if it becomes apparent the FPP lot have left because of his ego then I can’t imagine many fans (including myself) will be happy to accept the failures when we all know what could have been.

I always worried that Donald would become our Mike Ashley and the parallels are glaring.

Big claims at the start, drinking with the lads, all in it together ...

... now its all about control, money and refusing to let go of the reigns.

Just like Newcastle we could be stuck with him for a decade.

What a marvellous piece of news to wake up to. Absolute ****e few weeks being a sunderland fan, guess we should expect nothing else. It’s the sunderland way.

The only difference is we will be stuck with him in the lower leagues :emoticon-0107-sweat

I wish the parallels with Ashley were more founded ............i.e. Donald actually had some wealth behind him.

Is there any particular reason why we're taking a couple of one line posts at midnight last night with no explanation whatsoever to back them up as gospel, what am I missing?
