Yes mate, all coming back to me.

I was on my way back from a NE meeting, suited and booted, with Mrs Smug.

We called in and met your lovely family and stayed in a great hotel near the Minster.

    Great days.

    Very plausibe GG.

The Sun have just decided that it's an "extra 40m" rather than the actual 40m

Fits in with something said elsewhere (can't remember where exactly) that SD had dropped his asking price by 10m.

Observations from my first few weeks following forums, RTG for a week or so and then this one exclusively. You lads are nuts, like! In the past, when out big was happening in the world of SAFC (Bent transfer, new managers, deadline days) I'd be refreshing Google, als or twitter and anything I got back felt substantiated in one way or another (evidently not as reliable as I always assumed based on sundelland tshirt-gate) and generally final. I can honestly say I've never had as many ups and downs as I've had following this takeover/investment on these threads owa the last week or two. I think, on reflection, I was happier living day to day on scraps than I am living hour to hour on ITK. That being said, it's proper addictive innit! ️

You just don't get Mr.Benn banter over on RTG.

For the young uns, each episode followed exactly the same format. My memory is a bit hazy but the way I remember it was that he'd be out in his garden or walking down the street. Something would happen early on like a kid goes past playing with a rocket. 10 seconds later he'd be in his favourite fancy dress shop (haven't we all got one?) dressed as a spaceman. He'd walk out of the changing room and in this case, be on the moon or something daft. He'd have a great time and just as it was about to get really interesting the fancy dress shopkeeper appeared, led him through some other door and he'd be back in the fancy dress shop. He'd then walk home, reflecting on the day and find some sort of memorabilia of his visit in his pocket.

Now for the bit where it's clear I've had a few beers this afternoon..... a day in Mr.Benn's world has many parallels to that of an SAFC fan.....

For instance, away days. You start off full of excitement, onto the bus then a pub somewhere near the ground. You're having a great time and just as you're having a class time, the match appears. It's like groundhog day and 90 mins later you've had a kick in the balls. You get home, wake up the next day and have some memorabilia of the day before be it either a cut shin from an over zealous goal celebration or more likely, a half eaten pizza on the floor after you've got in pissed.

Or any recent day at work. You get in, start doing something and your mind drifts to the takeover. You start spamming F5 hoping for something, anything positive. Before you know what's going on it's 530 and it's time to go. You sit at home, reflecting on the day of doing nothing, go to bed, get up and start the same episode again.

    I'm off to bed. :emoticon-0102-bigsm

Simple financial advice, buy low, sell high. They are investment bods, not looking for glory and glamour. Most of the profit has already been taken out of investing in Man U but, at least I understood that, in buying out SAFC they were looking to build up a club to at least high Premier League status and, my opinion here, then try to cash in on that.

Obviously a load of 'young uns' on here as I'd never heard of it but, having checked, it was broadcast well after my 'kiddy wink' years in 1971/72.

We never even had colour TV until '67 and Andy Pandy was all the rage when I was a child!

That Looby Lou was something else, GRR!

Only Roger can be held responsible for that, given that he alone determines what is required from the mods and how they should behave.
