I'm not ITK but I always look at the fact that nothing good happens to Sunderland, lol. Has Donald gone to USA to try and resurrect the deal after all his comments at the talk in at Consett which maybe annoyed the potential owners to reconsider their options? I'm not slagging the idea of the take over in fact if you check any previous posts either here or elsewhere I've never really discussed it. It just seems strange that Donald has gone to the USA when most of the work has been done here. I just hope I'm my usual over cautious self, and worrying for no reason.

I am still reading the odd thread on RTG and I don’t get the constant demand for the sacking of Coton and Hill if and when the takeover goes through.

To a degree, Hill will be learning on the job and has obviously not performed his role in higher leagues but SD clearly has faith in his abilities. Also these complaints that Coton’s recruitment has been poor but the players such as Grigg, Power, Reece, Willis have all played to a high standard / scored a bolt load / won the league with other clubs. The only truly bad player is Wyke and obviously signed on the back of a really good season or two with Bradford.

Perhaps Ross is a great coach/trainer but lacks that tactical nous to get the team consistently performing good, attacking football. Someone mentioned it elsewhere but we have not consistently performed well since the start of last season under his tutelage.

Hill was replaced by Donald as manager of Eastleigh 3 times. That isn’t someone who has faith in someone’s ability, that’s someone hiring his mates in important jobs.

That is my view, why would he go to the USA to complete the deal. Something just doesn’t sit right and as you say, it is the Sunderland default mechanism of bracing yourself for the kick in the stones

The bloke is emotionless, I think he's now lost the players the fans and the away fans, it's time to hit the road Jack
I remember people getting annoyed at Keane standing hands in pockets leaning against the dugout. Seems a lot of those who are calling Ross for this, also want Keano back.

I dunno why he would need to do that mate, he hasn’t been over there during all of this speculation. I only hope you are right
Hopefully it's just a case of FPP not being able to get over to the UK to sign it off.

Sack Ross now, takeover next week employ a new manager quickly and he’s still got a week to bed in before the first league game. Got to be in their thoughts.

Please consider my thoughts in this post as an alternative viewpoint.

Assuming SD is indeed on his way/or already in the States, I think the situation can be interpreted in one of two ways.

a) If he is there at their invitation they are hoping to get him out of his comfort zone and onto their 'turf' to get concessions.

OR

b) If he requested the meeting they will interpret it as a sign of weakness and will, indeed, "squeeze his pips".

Either way I just hope SD can keep his temper in check, under the pressure he'll be put under.

I'm hoping it's just for practical reasons. It's a lot easier to get 1 very busy man to the U.S.A. than it is to get 3 very busy men to the U.K.
Whatever the reason is, it isn't just something that can be dealt with in a conference call, that's for sure.

Manager's that can be had quickly are a bit like players who can be had quickly - not much in demand by anyone else. Picking a new manager will take a while unless they've been on the case for a while, which I doubt

If they haven't it speaks volumes about the level of professionalism (or lack of it) at the club.

It’s like the club is just in a state of paralysis

Lets be honest, the club hasn't moved forward and been in Limbo since the Play off defeat. He always stated that he needed investment to take the club forward but what he did was make the club as investable as possible for the future buyers i.e getting rid of high earners and only sign players which really aren't better than what is already there so the wage bill is at bare minimum. Unfortunately this has been to the detriment of this seasons prospects as the football club on the pitch has taken a back seat and just is not good enough for automatic promotion this season and possibly not even the play offs.

There are many explanations mate, but like I say, this is unprecedented in our history, and it all seems a pipe dream. Nearly 50 years of ****, why should it change now, it’s like me winning the rollover. That’s my default stance because it is what those 50 years have done to me. My lad who I go to the games with, ever since he was a tot old enough to talk, it was football, football, football. He’s 25 now and is all he ever talks about, nothing else matters. He was making arrangements to go to Shrewsbury. Yesterday he actually uttered the words! “ at this moment, I’ve no interest in football”. Of course he will get it back by next game, but not sure how many kicks he can take, especially since he was Leicester born and we lived there for the first 8 years of his life. Come 5pm on a Saturday he must ****ing hate me. We’ve had the Germans, that Campbell fella, which looks like it could be a blessing, all falling through. We need this break because staying here, we are going to lose a generation of fans, even though the mags are at a low. Apologies for the pessimism marra, but that is me in a nutshell.

I think it was mentioned when the potential takeover news broke, that the views of an ex-England manager had been sought by the consortium. I would hope that those views would have included possible replacements for Ross, if things didn't improve on the pitch.

Tbh donald and his cohort should be keeping well away from formal and informal fan gatherings until this takeover is finalized one way or another.
Sometimes he cant hold his tongue and maybe sometimes he could be misquoted/taken out of context.
I would imagine potential new owners must be seething with sd's penchant ro ingratiate himself.
What owners want and what fans will want will always cause hassle.
Self interest 101
Whilst it’s totally refreshing he is connecting with the fans this way i agree with you.

Imagine what he would be like after 12 bottles of Stella in the way down to an away game!

Rumour 1 ) SD has gone to the USA
Rumour 2) SD told someone itll be done within days - Monday or Tuesday.

If the above are true then I'm reading it as he has flown over there to tie up the loose ends and they all sign the paperwork to complete
Sounds good to me.
