Choudhury has been getting shedloads of rascist abuse on social media from 'Liverpool fans' ... Klopp has done the lad no favours and, as you (and others) have said, the tackle wasn't close to being the x-rated brutal assault that Klopp was insinuating after the game... Mane engineered the penalty without question ... although Albrighton should just have got rid ... hoof it and the ref blows ... Liverpool getting those type of breaks could well lift the title.
It wasn't a red card, I think Klopp knows that after calming down. It was as cynical as you get though, the argument should be how cynical should the game allow you to be? At the moment you can literally hack a player down and take a yellow... seems ok to me but I can see why managers get pissed.
Agreed ... the lad is an aggressive player, a ball winner, that's his job ... at times he is rash ... he is 21 (I think) ... he'll learn ... but Colgate Chops has now made him a hate target for the internet warriors and the 'offence' did not warrant that
Not a pen for me but I’m a bit old-fashioned (2006 old-fashioned). In a VAR age it has to be given which is a shame because football would be a better sport for stuff like that being punished rather than rewarded.
Mane bought that pen. Contact doesn't mean foul. It has to be a foul to be a pen. Anywhere else on the pitch the ref would have waved play on. Salah diving again. Not even a yellow for me.
Yeah, it's not even like he was moving at pace where a slight knock could unbalance him. He was stood still ffs. Imagine if you're queuing up to get into the ground and someone taps your heel from behind. You don't ****in take a tumble do you? VAR clearly is only there for offsides. Refs will still favour the big teams with poor decisions that their mates at var hq will not overturn. ****in ridiculous.
Felt contact and dived . Im with you on this... why did the ref not let it go to var ? It was a match deciding decision ... very harsh and players will continue to dive if they get success from.. it wasnt like he was going anywhere and if a pass was on hed have played it . There was **** all on , so he dived. If refs give them then var has to give them all imo
Var is only there for offsides and to check for contact with an arm prior to a goal. That's it. Nothing else.
VAR is ****. If they want to use video technology to make decisions then it needs to be used for all decisions in all professional games ie the match official is there to pass on the decisions from the people in the hut. Being selective about when it's used and in which games is like saying that there's no need for linesmen in League 2 as it's just not that important.
Yeah but ... Have they lost 7-2 st home and 3-0 away from in 5 days? Have they lost to a team 3 divisions lower than them? Have they only kept 3 clean sheets in the last 21 matches? Have they failed to score 8 times in the last 19 games? Have they conceded 2 goals or more 8 time in the last 13 matches? Have they thrown away 19 points from winning positions in a year? Come back when they are truely spursy
They've beaten the teams in the top half but can't beat the teams in the bottom half. That's quite Spursy. Similar transfer budgets too.
Pretty sure all penalty calls are checked as are all goals. Albeit only to agree with the referee anyway unless someone’s cock has strayed offside but still.
I'm assuming they don't use it in the Europa League thingy as Rashford was taken clean out the other day but there was no review. I know they use it in the CL as United were gifted a ridiculous penalty in the last minute against PSG last season.
They do. Different rules around it just to keep it fun as the Premier League decided they had a better way of doing it than them forrens.
Yes but what im saying is var is quite strict on pens and i like that because it encourages players to stay on their feet, but if refs give cheap pens then its pointless and of course unfair /inconsistant.
