I thought the ref had a big say in stopping any momentum for us in the 2nd half. I would suggest that he definitely had an agenda.. Still doesn't explain fully how we looked so nervy in the 2nd half though..

I'm not usually one for conspiracy theories about refs being biased but it did feel like it went beyond the ref simply being crap into agenda territory. He'd ignore a clear foul on our player, the ball would move towards our goal then he'd give them a free kick for an identical foul.

I remember Lynch being down with a head injury, he let play go on and allowed them two attempts then blew the whistle when our LB got the ball back. He was dodgy imo, probably nothing more than reacting childishly to the crowd getting on his back early on but still.

How many of those players are ross’ signings?

he’s had 18 month and despite signing these players he still doesn’t know his best system. A summer of playing a formation he ditched after 20 minutes in the first game

    20 minutes!

Fair dos they were signed on his watch, we don't know to what extent the players we bought when we actually had some money to spend were his picks, but as manager he bears responsibility. Grigg and Wyke have both been failures unfortunately.

Also fair enough it was poor to start the season with a formation that seemed to baffle our own players but more to the point he changed it sharpish and hasn't gone back to his preferred formation because it didn't work. That's to his credit I'd say.

What's your thoughts on the calibre of players we have now throughout the squad, I say they're average for the league, in the most part with a few exceptions, do you disagree?

I think our main problem has been a lack of physicality and being easily bullied off the ball.
Ross has remedied some of this with Willis and Lynch but we still need a big lad to kick **** out of other teams midfielders.
Other than that we have enough skill to see us home just disappointing were relying on midfielders to score the goals were not getting from the forwards.

McLaughlin, maguire, mageady, power all very good in this league. I’d even throw ozturk in there who admittedly I thought was poor when he first signed. The rest I largely believe are good enough to get out of this league but are not being played with their strengths in mind. Even playing them out of position.

while he signed a few decent players his recruitment has largely been scattergun with no clear idea of who we need and for what purpose. 6 centre backs and one of them has been useable

His approach has been scattergun because we've had bugger all money to spend after it all went on Grigg, there's only so much you can do with free transfers.

McGeady is obviously a quality player, Maguire too although he's patchy, didn't think much of Power last season and McLaughlin is a good keeper for the league or he was last season anyway. Point is that if those are our best players it's debatable whether they're top two material and then there's the rest of the squad who probably aren't.

I'm not saying we're ****e just that our league position is a reflection of the quality of the squad. The players look like they're trying and we never give in or panic after going behind and these things are credit to Ross. We ain't going to be playing much sexy attacking football because we haven't got sexy attacking players.
