I had today down as a sort the garden out day... but as it is raining heavily I am watching some very hefty men from Samoa and Russia clatter one another, some proper handbags as well

The fitness levels of rugby players these days are rediculous.
Skill levels from forwards and backs have improved hugely which games like todsy have shown.

Imagine footballers in the same environment, there would be 6 hours of injury time and you would need 70 subs

I also think the 'stopping of the clock" rather than adding it on at the end works well

Watching England v Tonga, if I was playing any of the tackles would break me in two.
In football players pretend they are hurt, in rugby they pretend they are not.
It’s sad and frankly embarrassing seeing the way some professional footballers react to an innocuous challenge that, had it happened anywhere else, wouldn’t have warranted a second look. These people have absolutely no dignity or self-respect at all and certainly no morals. They are an all too common blight on the game today. Unfortunately nothing is being done to stamp it out.

Worryingly the respect to the refs seems to be diminishing from rugby. Hopefully it is stamped out sooner rather than later

Watched the England game earlier and it was a dull fest but importantly we won Watched the Japanese batter the Samoans in an excellent game of rugby...the Japanese were Fu if passion and the game played quickly and with passion.

I’m afraid to say that’s exactly what you are going to get if we head back to the prem again lads on £300 grand a week who can’t even hit the bloody goal but that’s the football we are stuck with <ok>
