I'd judge a cameo as fleeting part in a movie/or a non speaking part (i.e as a point of reference)...he may have not been the main character but his part is not a cameo (in my opinion <ok>)
 
He was good in State of Grace,
also liked him in Dracoooooool, even though he hammed it up a bit

Ok cameo may of been the wrong word to use,but you get what i mean?
