Been past Gloucester services this afternoon. Had to pop in and buy some Gloucester old spot sausages and some sourdough bread. So that’s what I’m having for a late lunch.

Also bought some scallops for later.

Bit of a peasant tonight, bacon grill, chips, beans and a fried egg.

Haven't had that for years but wasn't a fan as a kid, it's just mashed meat with beacon flavouring.

I acquired a taste for it through years of eating army ration packs.

Mashed pork and reclaimed chicken with bacon flavouring rammed into a tin. You fry slices of it. It's horrible stuff.

Never had that in my ration packs, that must have been way back.

 

It's pure luxury for breakfast when you have been living in the field for weeks, ie: military exercises.

 

My parents made me eat it once and I puked over the table.
