Just discovered that Howard Webb is the ref for today's game. Surprised about this given that his linesman is from Norfolk.

The best ref won't award a penalty against us will he?

I'm hoping the media coverage of the harsh penalties and the fact that he's a good ref will stop him from giving dodgy penalties.

How come we've got him? Have Man Utd. got the day off?

As personal favour to PL, Ferguson has released Webb for the day.

Oh that's an interesting one, you can't help but wonder if that's deliberate because of the non-penalties awarded against us.

Perhaps the powers that be have been reading all the threads on here and are concerned that we are going to remove ourselves from the league?

Just what i was thinking CS.
Maybe Dalglish was more than a tad persuasive or accommodating when he was 'in bed' with the referees the other day.
Guess we'll see on MOTD tonight. Make sure you watch the way they walk!!

Seriously though, can anyone remember when we last had a 'top' ref for one of our games?

I think we will all get a bit suspicious if we concede a fifth penalty. There will be conspiracy theories about this soon!
That's exactly what I thought CS. Would have thought we would be refereeing Chelsea v man united seeing as it's such a big game. Unless the FA decided to reward Hasley's performance for west brom last week with the Chelsea game.

Well Wonky it's happened again !
    & WTF !
Never a pen again! but today, thank god ,other than our goal difference it didn't matter to much.
But why do they keep giving pens against us ? it was a coming together! right in front of the lino, who never moved a muscle & Webb who was behind the challenge gave a pen ?
Shocking ! but hey ho its a win!
