Tbf he has directed some Turkeys. Firefox and Bronco Billy for example. Midnight in the garden of good and evil was a stinker.
However...
Since 2000 he really found his directing chops with a run of fantastic movies from Mystic River to Flags/Letters, the Changling, BDB, American Sniper Gran Torino and Sully.
All excellent movies.
Some folk think there have been no excellent films since the year 2000 though.

Yes I saw that, If it were my list I'd have added to Kill a Mocking Bird and before 12 angry Men, (Fonda was superb).
Charlies only good of a quick sober up or 20 minutes of mayhem. Speed is far better.
