England cheated on several occasions … cheating is part of sport sadly … but theres thankfully been none in this , so thankfully its been won by the best side
They shouldn't be playing IMHO , but they served the ban Cricket Australia gave them . Can't blame them for celebrating . PS we haven't LOST the Ashes , Australia will RETAIN them .
Yes they have, but using sandpaper took it to a new level. And getting a kid involved in their dirty work was pretty ****ty as well. I lay the whole blame of the poor behaviour of Australia back then on Darren Lehmann, it was a lot more than just sandpaper too.
Shining the ball is in the rules. Every team does it Sweets is a grey area and is designed just to make it shine abit but sandpaper changes the shape and condition of the ball. Its pure cheating I wouldnt have wanted any England players playing for us again if they was sanding the ball down. And for Smith and Warner to get the young lad to do it makes it worse
Aussie have been bad losers and even worse winners for a long time. Put the sandpaper on top of it and their reputation and pride in tatters Something Tim Paine said he wanted to change and has done fairly well at. But Smith and Warner shouldnt have come back in IMO And before the “aussie” cries were saying it because were losing. Who won the world cup?
I agree . As I said earlier though , I blame Cricket Australia for that . Ban them for 1 year . Just so happens they can play in the world cup and the Ashes ........
You don't need to. The reaction in Australia at the time proved that. They agreed virtually unanimously, it was one of the worst cases of cheating in cricket, or any sport ever.
in the past … cheating is cheating both countries have done it and thankfully the better side will win this
Definition. Under Law 41, subsection 3 of the Laws of Cricket, the ball may be polished without the use of an artificial substance, may be dried with a towel if it is wet, and have mud removed from it under supervision; all other actions which alter the condition of the ball are illegal. I think sanding the ball comes under “all other actions” As the captain to decide to do that is shocking and then to get the newbie to do it is even worse He cant be trusted to captain anyone again after that and while he is in the team he will undermine every captain which he has done all series tbh with him moving the field and telling the bowlers what to do
We need to survive for at least another 30-45 mins. Overton and Leach need to be clever and start getting into the umpires ear now like the Aussies have done everytime they are in trouble over the years. Even this series they have had the ball changed a few times by keeping complaining about it
Aussies didnt deserve a draw at Lords Buts that test cricket If a side cant get a result after 5 days regardless of how the scoreboard looks. You only deserve a draw Commonly said you need to take 20 wickets to win a test match
