While I dont think Roy is a test player at all but everyone has to start somewhere. So far he has settled well today Big day for Tim Paine. Already changed his tactics after a few overs. If today doesnt go well for the Aussies there will be serious question marks over him
Good start from Roy and Denly. Hopefully they can carry on until and past lunch where Tim Paine will start panicking again They are on about there has to be 98 overs today but cant see it. Bad light will stop play at 7ish at the latest. Just got to survive and waste as much time as possible. Something the aussies have been experts at over the years
Aussies getting desperate. Screaming for anything and everything Nathan Lyon has now missed the ball again and cost over throws Brilliant
Ooops, that went well. No chance now. Nothing to do with being **** fans and everything to do with not being blind ****ing stupid. Be done tea this.
Its not over but im loving it ... the over celebrating and creaming from the english last test was unwise... you really geared my boys up.. The fans give up just like their batsman when it counts I guess
They've just shown a graphic on the TV which shows how relentlessness Australia have been with the ball in this innings. There's one - maybe two - bad balls. This trio is remarkable. There !!! So I dont expect any excuses about how bad england played or persecution of individual players!!! Australia have once again shown England how to play cricket .
No, not really as the Oval will be packed to the rafters next week with the full expectation of us winning that to level and draw the series. It's not giving up in this case, it's acceptance that we'll lose and that we are currently captained by an arrogant clown. This year we threw our eggs in the world cup basket and, as a result, have no decent test match batsmen, bar Stokes.
Ok fella but i feel 3-1 is far more realistic Then more such excuses rather than credit the australians
This test a lot rested on winning the test. The same applies at the Oval. Win toss, bat first and get a big enough score to know fine well you can't lose. Scoreboard pressure, as it's known. That then affects the bowling strategy as you've a total you can defend. I would have more confidence in England doing that at the Oval than I would trying to bowl the Aussies our cheaply first innings.
It's fair to say Nathan Lyon is having something of a sense of humour failure. This is the man who leads the Australia team song, who wanted to "end careers" down under, who dropped he Ashes two weeks ago. The Old Trafford crowd have him rattled. Above from the BBC .
That’s absolute bollocks. Take Smith out of the Aussie side and they get gubbed in the first test, and they’re not in a winning position in this one either.
The is very little between the sides. Smith class is the only thing that separates to average batting sides. Root has got a few 50’s like Labuschange. Stokes has done well Other then that the best players have been Broad, Archer, Cummins, Hazelwood Bowlers really have dominated. Aside from Smith. No one has performed consistently with the bat
