FFS! Losing him for any time at all is hardly what we need right now. If he withstood that dreadful excuse for a tackle and played on, I'm struggling to see the groin problem being that minor.
That's a straight red. Glad to see the standard of officialdom across the globe is pretty much equivalent to the PL.
He'd already been booked, too. I think that even the Premier League VAR would've caught that one. Maybe.
FIFA are streaming various African fixtures from the World Cup qualifiers on Youtube. It's a nice idea and it's better than nothing, but the quality is so bloody poor. Spend some of that cash that the Qataris bunged you on some cameras and pundits, FFS. Having said that, I've never heard of Comoros, so maybe I'm being too harsh?
Seems to be a regular occurrence, stamping on feet and ankles. Should be a straight red. That May stop it.....?
The ref handled the game badly: in blood and thunder games such as Chile Vs Argentina you give the players fifteen minutes to get it out of their systems before issuing cards - but the ref booked Paredes and Aranguiz within the first seven minutes
That's even weirder, though. Right fullback and the other side? A winger. It's almost a 4-4-2 on paper, if Vertonghen's at left-back, but they won't line up like that.
I really enjoyed watching Van Dyk today. Like Bobby Moore,he made it look so easy. I think our center backs called pick up something watching him. As soon as he passes the ball he runs into a space to receive the ball back and has a lot of time to find a man. Usual center backs don't want to leave "their spot!"
Always good to see that idiot Neymar clattered but what a silly challenge to make in the box though. Amazing that wasn’t given as a penalty. Sanchez really should know better by now.
…..and they did it,even though the ref did a Fergie to give the Czechs a chance adding umpteen minutes!
Irrespective of Harry Kane's goal (his 4th in 5 games this season), Sky will no doubt conrinue to report his struggles in front of goal...
