This is an odd one. As backup he wouldn't be too bad I guess, he's better than Martin Å krtel anyway, in my opinion.

Stoke City boss Tony Pulis will renew his bid to sign Liverpool’s Sotirios Kyrgiakos for next season.

The Greek defender was close to joining the Potters before the transfer window shut but Liverpool pulled the plug at the last minute. However, Kyrgiakos, 31, could be on his way to Stoke in the summer when Pulis plans to shake up his back line, with former skipper Abdoulaye Faye on his way out.

    Sgt,

I think he could do a job for us just wish Mr P would concentrate on a creative mid.

First I've heard of this rumour, doubt we'll get him.

I like Kyrgiakos, but I'd prefer Skrtel.
He's not any better than Shawcross or Huth though, and I can't see him wanting to leave Liverpool to sit on our bench.

Same, I agree with that. Wouldn't mind him, think he'd fit in with the squad well.

You 2 really think so? Skrtel has never really impressed me, he always seemed like a rabbit in the headlights when balls go in the box near him. Just my opinion of course.

No problem with that opinion, its good to differ :) I just think he'd fit in more compared to Kyrgiakos. He seems solid, (in the literal sense sort of, not the chavvy way - innit blud?) ;)

Yeah, I like him although I know what you mean Sarge, I have seen him get caught out and not knowing which way to run a few times, but for the most part he does his job well.
Might just be me that thinks all defenders should be massive scary looking bald blokes though...
