Exactly. Makes me laugh when City get all the blame, hopefully RCL will remind us all eventually, how much the new ground cost, without all these rude interruptions from his fellow supporters.
We paid for a new ground...something city didn't but why compare paying over £700m on new players in 3 years with building a ground?
Our ground cost somewhere between £750m and £850m.
We get slaughtered for not throwing money around...Levy is mocked for being tight cos we pay what we can afford. We built a new ground to be able to afford more.
We were a turgid team and slowly improved to being a top 5 or 6 team. We built on that over a few years to become a top 4 team.
It was that patience and living within our means that meant we were able to to built the ground and hopefully will help us afford better players.
City were turgid until the day they were bought. And that changed over night. And not content with that they have broken FFP rules and rules on signing under 18s.
Chelsea used to challenge for the title and won trophies before they were bought.
Arsenal did a similar thing to us and built a new ground.
United inproved their ground and marketing and spent that to dominate.
That's why I mentioned city...they have not earned or built anything...they have simply bought it all .
To me that is spoiling football and is one of the reasons people will always remember Leicester winning the title.
I know I am in a minority but it is a genuine belief.
City have not stopped us winning anything so it is not bitterness.
It kills football imho.
Historically I blame spurs as much as anyone for money killing the game...we were the first club to become a PLC and were a key player in pushing for the Premier League...but City (for me) epitomise more than any other club what is wrong in football.
