I try and avoid the Sun/Heat. Went to Spain with work a few weeks ago and it was 40 degrees. Ridiculous. Look at a map of Spain it is always the hottest region in Spain. Not enjoyable for me. I’ll stick to alpine climates at Easter.
Went to a quiet part of Corfu in May. Pissed it down and was still out of season, so dead rather than quiet. Actually struggled to find a taverna that was showing the climax to the Premier league. We were all inclusive, so just ate and drank for a week

Next Friday - meeting the gang in pub carpark before heading through to the ferry in Hull, the gateway to Belgium, Luxembourg, France (spend the night) before heading to our base in Austria (via the wonderful B500 in Germany), several trips to the various passes in Switzerland and Italy already planned. Family holiday in Turkey (done) and Majorca to come - this retirement larks ok!

Off to Venice and surrounds next week Sunday with the brood for a week. Any pointers much welcome, not been before.
Did you go to that pizza place in the little square?? One of the best pizzas I've ever had
If you're still down there 1st week of Sept. European Bike Week centered on Faaker See but there's bike stuff all around the region is worth a visit.
Booked half board so dident eat out much. Kids had pizza in a place near the white church once or twice.
If your into history and/or art go into the Doge's palace next to St Marks. Fantastic place
Stay on Lido.
If not take a day trip there. Chilled place, reachable by vaporetto from San Marco as part of city transport network , or even direct from airport by boat if you are feeling flash and flush.
Nice big underpopulated beach there even if sea is a bit meh.

Had grappa after last nights evening meal, asked for recommendation so he helpfully just gave me the most expensive one!
Heading for the woods this weekend. That's where my tee-shots usually end up, but at least there's shade there.
