Apropos of a chat with DaveCG last night, may I recommend a book I finished recently (for the fourth time). It's "The Big Short" by Michael Lewis. It's a wonderfully readable explanation of why the global financial crash happened a decade ago, told from the perspective of the handful of people who saw it coming (and who made money from it). The film's good. The book's outstanding.

My friend asked me if I wanted to hear a really good Batman impression, so I said go on then. He shouted, “NOT THE KRYPTONITE!” and I said, “That’s Superman…”

“Thanks man,” he said. “I’ve been practising it a lot.”

A very good chat too, with only a little of it about the agonies of being a Saints supporter :emoticon-0103-cool:

Thanks for the heads up re the book, Vin, and thanks for a great evening. As per Mrs Vin’s recommendation, we had the salt & pepper king prawns (we went to the Water Garden in North Baddesley) and they were amazing. Can thoroughly recommend both the venue and the company. Cheers, Vin!

Well done, Fats junior! And brilliant parenting, I’m sure ...... :emoticon-0103-cool:

Reminds me of a very teary moment of my own, when my “little girl” got hers back in 97 (blimey that makes me feel old). She wouldn’t let me go with her to see the results at the school, so I sat in the car chewing my fingernails. She came back looking glum and said “Dad. Will you be upset with me?” Of course, I said “no! Whatever the results”
She said “I only got a B in history”
“Fantastic”, I said. “And the others?” (Fearing the worst)
“Oh, I got A’s in the other two” .......
I still tear up thinking about it now .... :emoticon-0106-cryin
