Funny how the head of Calais port has said that he expects there to be no disruption to traffic between ports when Brexit takes place....I thought one of the ‘fears’ touted on the remain side was that it would be mayhem and goods would be stuck at ports, leading to shortages of life saving goods........ He is even quoted as saying ‘there are certain individuals in the UK who are whipping up catastrophism for their own reasons’ Sorry I don’t know how to do links.
Correct me if I'm wrong, but wasn't the significant majority of the country in support of WWII despite the enormous personal cost, etc.? I may have been misinformed, but I don't recall reading that a large proportion of the country started complaining that the Blitz wasn't part of the deal so perhaps we ought to tell that nice Mr Hitler it had all been a mistake and we didn't really mean to declare war in September 1939. It would be interesting to see how the electorate would have voted in 1939 had there been a referendum on whether to declare war or not. Yeah, yeah, yeah, I know: Brexit and WWII are clearly not the same thing. Staying in the EU is not akin to appeasing that nasty Mr Hitler chap. Your Tweeter ought to stick to the things he does best... like doing the voices on 'Animal Magic'.
