Preview;
We haven't beaten Bristol City in our last five meetings, and this is a cup game, so my hopes are not high. That said, I was encouraged by what I saw on Saturday, we played some good football at times, and they were certainly happier with a draw than we were. I was very impressed with some of the movement and link-up-play and would like to see some players given more game time together to help them understand each other, and be able to work well together, particularly Eze and Chair.
I suspect that we will learn a lot from the next two games, assuming that is, that Warburton experiments a bit with formation/selection/tactics on Tuesday night, knowing that he can then make necessary changes for Saturday, when we face City again in the league. I'd be interested to know if you think he should go all guns blazing in search of a cup run (it's when you win a few games in a cup competition and progress to the latter stages - I read about it once), or if he should treat Tuesday night as an opportunity to give some youngsters some experience, or some fringe players a chance to shine. I would love a cup run, but feel that with our squad we need to focus on the league and pick up as many points as we can when possible. Discuss...
Enjoy those who are going and COME ON YOU SUPER HOOPSA!!!
