Why wasn't Hojbjerg playing? Clearly Ralph does not know what he is doing and needs to go. We can terminate all the defences contracts to free up wage space and sign some pacey defenders..... or we can all chill out. Have a pint and wait for all this to blow over. It's only one loss to Burnley. Bournemouth lost 4-0 last season could be worse.

Why weren’t you telling us for the last 6 months he’s average?

Where was your post two weeks ago telling us he’s average and we’re going down? Perhaps it’s just a knee jerk reaction to a very bad result.

Because we've only played friendly games over the last few months and they don't count?

I don't understand why some fans seem to think he's only been in the job a couple of months. He's been the boss since Cardiff away last year. He's had ample opportunity to sort out the defence either through coaching, or two transfer windows. It's absolutely ridiculous how bad they are

Unreal that I've seen anyone bad mouth hasenhuttl after ONE game in **** conditions at a tough ground.

Get a ****ing grip. We are lucky to have him, it's not his fault we have such a below par squad. I think Stephens must flatter to deceive in training.

But its not the one game is it? Or do we just pretend last season didn't happen and he didn't have the whole summer to sort this out?

I usually feel rubbish waking up on Sunday after a bad loss (or any loss for that matter....or any draw where we were winning at one point), but fairly sanguine today....probably because it was the FIRST GAME OF THE SEASON. Not saying that I'm not disappointed and I recognise a similar pattern to matches last season, but I trust Ralph and I know that we have a lot of decent players. The thing that surprises me most is that we didn't score as I think our strength is more in attack.

Ralph was apoplectic about the capitulation after the first goal when we had played well initially, he will have brooded overnight and be back firing on all cylinders today....the players had better be prepared to duck. Let's be more positive and say a lesson has been learned...but also don't be raging if we lose to Liverpool....a lot of teams will do that. Just want to see a good performance promising better.

If you're going to judge him on the defence do you think it would be fair to let the bloke integrate his signing in that position?

You can't coach out that sort of mistake.

It took Klopp a lot longer to sort the Liverpool defence out and he had millions more at his disposal.

Now he can do no wrong.

It's a tough league and the same defence that can keep a clean sheet against Chelsea can concede 3 at Burnley

Why do you think he makes the signings?

And no, we’re not forgetting last season, where had he been in charge since the start, with his points per game ratio we would have finished in the top ten.

What’s your point? Or are you just angry?

The old saying is that it is the hope that kills you. A lot of disappointment for most fans is down to expectations and feeling badly let down. There will always be games like this..most teams will have them....but it would be better if it was mid-season (and mid-table) rather than the first game. But it isn't so we have to suck it up.

Our tendency to collapse was worse before Hasenhuttl arrived. He brought through valery who was one of our best players yesterday and this new CB who's not been here long enough to play yesterday.

If you remember before Ralph got here for comparison then it's hard to say he's not gone some way to sort out the defence.

As I said at half time yesterday, our defence were on top.

Do you live next door to Impsaint? I’m not sure the water can be all that good up there :)

- Assuming Danso is better than Stephens, and with Hojbjerg back in, that's already gonna make us more solid.

- Tough first game for Adams, but we need to get that partnership with Ings firing because our biggest worry is not the defence; it's relying on Redmond too much. If he gets injured, we're ****ed, because Djenepo is gonna be raw as **** for his first ten games.
Not so sure about that. Look at the improvement he got out of Nathan redmond following his little chat.

:bandit:

I thought they were just chatting about premature balding.

Djenepo hasn’t played yet. He is going to be awesome.

I wonder why we play Ings the way we do. Not that he isn’t good at it, but I feel like maybe Armstrong could do it which might free him up to get into the box some more. He is probably our best finisher and one of our only two players who can score. And Armstrong might be third best (aside from JWP on free kicks).
Once again, I would remind you that JWP was our JOINT HIGHEST goal scorer last season.
